Please tell me this is an isolated matter and we're only seeing stupid people's tweets and messages there.

I hereby invoke Poe's Law.
with a corollary that SRS and TumblrInAction have on occasions been caught making offensive posts themselves in order to fuel controversy for them to speak out against.

Yeah, saw this all over my twitter feed earlier, along with Coke trending... Then I saw everyone's tweets about the ad.

You ever think Coca Cola put out such an ad to make this controversy happen on purpose?

Publicity is good for them[as a company], yes.

I'm glad I don't associate with such ignorant people.

icephoenix21; idk, as a good person, if I was to make this, I'd think "Hey, let's make an awesome, love-filled commercial for people to enjoy. Something that really encompasses what America as a whole truly is." I'd expect a good response, maybe the obligatory racist person, but these kind of responses are just ignorant. I think it was expected, but not made out of that expectation.

The stupidity, I swear..

It's also fun to note that a good chunk of them can't even write/speak English correctly themselves despite the "lack of English" in the commercial.

Sigh, some humans.

It's hard knowing motives for sure, but good person =/= business move...kinda like the recent issue with the anti-gay pasta company, thus resulting in other pasta companies showing their support for homosexuality.

"Good" intentions aside (and taking a neutral standpoint on the entire issue), I call it corporate greed using business tactics to get more sales.

I laugh whenever I come across someone saying Coca Cola butchered the "national anthem."

So you're saying that if we don't want to end up like the native Americans, we need to resist immigrants more effectively than they did?
