Beast Tamer discussion thread

So, the levelup gifts are basically just a checkbox list.
You get one of each item listed by the time you finish the list's level range, but they're given to you in a random(?) order. Items in multiple boxes are granted once for each box.

Yep, so we'll get those SP Potions no matter what.

Level 14 so far. Don't know where to invest SP yet..... doesn't matter because I'm one shotting everything.

I hate how the game asked me to pick a prize for not logging in for a while on my Cannon Shooter, then gave the Double EXP card to my Luminous while I was assigning Link Skills. My Beast Tamer really could have used that.....

Okay, normally I try to stick with the story quests, but hell the **** no, Beast Tamer.
Go kill tons of golems!
...go do it again!
...different golems, but grab their loot!
...again!
...now those last two again!

The quests are under Job section, can we skip them or do we need to do ALL of them eventually?

I will skin alive the person who thought to make Kerning Square part of the plot. What an insufferable, annoying quest line.

I think of doing bear/cat, but looking at the cat skills it looks like you need to remain in cat mode for most of them to be active? For someone who would choose the bear for bossing, how exactly would the cat help if you sort of need to be in one mode or the other. Or am I misreading the skills.

Since all the buffs are passive, switching into the cat form would give you the buffs instantly. If you weaken a boss down to one or two hits away from death and then switch to cat form to deliver the killing blow (it's not exactly weak) you'd get the drop rate and exp buffs.

The problem with simultaneous release is that there isn't any build yet (is there?)

Actually, Bear+ Cat is the best combination, because the update notes say that: "Passive skills from each animal are not shared between all animal modes." but buffs and debuffs will probably still be working after you change from cat to Bear. So, with cat you can get 20% Pdr, 30% damage, 200 def and 2 att speed extra. Which is great and considering that cat has a revive skill, if one of your teammates die, you can just change and revive him. Bear only has the enrage type thing as a buff, leopard has nothing and eagle is not worth it, too much useless skills.

Well...if one of the JMS developers did, then it's not his/her fault. JMS's Kerning Square is too good, unless at some point recently we got reverted to the KMS version. The JMS version was always its own thing and always awesome.

As far as I can tell they removed those free levels. I didn't get them on the 3 adventurers I made for the All4One event at the end of December, but did get them for my I/L Mage that I made for the rings earlier in the month.

Still waiting for that character slot to make one.
Is there anything else about the story quests I should know about first?

I'm enjoying the storyline and the dialogue, but the quests themselves are annoying and repetitive. More than any other class storyline i've played.

Also weirdly, the level 50 Scepter has the same magic attack as the level 40 Scepter.

I didn't get Barbara's Fishing Rod during the Riena's Straight quest. It could be bugged. I already forfeited the quest twice.

Is this just recycled content: the character?
It's bad enough they honestly expect us to do these crappy 5000 etc drop quests, but you could at least make them NEW quests.

It's been bugged off and on for a while; I couldn't do it on my Zero when I got out of the Mirror World.

My God these quests are killing me. WHY OH WHY?!!?


I am having fun though and enjoying the freshness of the Character.

Oh wow, these quests really suck. They are all pretty bad, but this one takes the cake.

150 items from Star Pixies, which drop at a quite low rate (probably like 10% drop rate)
AND 150 items from Lunar Pixies, which drop at the same rate
AND 150 items again from Luster Pixies.

Possibly one of the worst quests I've encountered in the entirety of Maple.
