"Lockdown" Error Code 38 data gathering.

I think we should consider something... Can anyone help me with things a main character usually has? Since it's usual to see main characters affected...

-A lot of completed quests.
-A nice medal collection.
-Some mounts.
-Mesos.
-Crusader Codex cards.
-A big enough Familiar collection.
-Inventory expansions.
-Lots of untradeable items.
-Higher level.
-Most if not all equipment slots filled.
-NX equipment items.
-Event items.

I'm betting the problem comes from one or more than one from that list.

-Chairs and titles?
-Pets
-Android
-Lots of fame?
-High level traits?

All I can come up with.

I can check off all of those things for myself... how about pets? I had 3. But honestly, just the character's inventory being expanded beyond a certain point and being xx% full makes sense (or the least amount of no-sense?), so it's something like when the client queries the server where character information is stored, it can't parse all those items (with link skills somehow factoring into this as well).

Sadly, I don't think anything of mine was expiring soon... except for mushy on he 24th.

Oh I completely skipped this post the first time around.
Everything on the list I have except a big Familiar collection and maybe untradables. I don't think I have enough untradables since I recently cleaned mine out when I first got this problem.

All I can come up with.

Setup inventory filled up. I have a 12 slot bag for titles and chairs which are also all filled up.
I have around 5 androids.
I got 11k fame. I gained over 5k of that fame recently with the love letters.
All traits are level 100.

I'm pretty sure most people affected by this has most of these things checked off. It will be hard to narrow it down or it might have to do with everything here idk..

Hello all! Just wanted to drop in and say thank you. After trying to enter Monster Life (it had been months since I've gone in, btw) and getting Error Code 38, I found this page linked to a topic on the official Nexon forums.

Based on the suggestions in this thread, I removed a few items (throwing away useless medals and breaking down some equips) and I was able to successfully enter Monster Life. I will certainly be keeping a closer eye on my inventories.

For the record, in case it is helpful:
* Main account (created the day Maple Story came out of beta)
* Level 200+
* Expanded inventories, although none maxed
* 39 familiars
* 62 medals total earned, 7 in inventory, 1 equipped (was 10 in inventory when I was getting the error)
* 1,477 completed quests
* Sub 5,000 fame
* 9 pets, 2 still usable
* 6 mounts
* No traits are maxed

Let me know if anything else would be helpful.

Hopefully this will also fix the problem for those of us with the lesser forms of this bug (Error 38 on entering Monster Life and Cash Shop)

Phase 1 confirmed on my first character.
Funny enough, that character is no longer my most frequently played character.

I will rejoice once I am able to log in again.... I don't understand how the same cause effects going to monster life, but here's hoping that gets fixed too!

And to everyone else, thanks for your cooperation! Even if Nexon figured out on their own, you guys even found a temporary fix! Ironically, I just read that as my gingerbread ring expired, and managed to perform that same fix to return to phase 2 again. Dropped enough stuff to stay at phase 1 though, just in case.

But anyway, this concludes this thread, let's keep it alive for now until it's fixed in the patch, so people can read about the fix in the first post. I should update that too, by the way!

the "fix" only works if an item expired when you apply said "fix". So it's not exactly perfect, but it works. For example, I double checked, and what expired were the guild potions, as usual, all sundays.

That was what set me free this last time.

Nexon's patch fix, that's another thing entirely, time will tell!

Great news! I know that person will be incredibly pleased with this Hopefully put a smile on her face..

I've been locked out on SolidHitman since Christmas but I'll be happy to be able to login again. I'll be even happier if this is the last time we see this bug. I had incorrectly assumed that it would never rear it's ugly head again after the last time last year but sadly I was mistaken.

Well, hopefully all this ends in a few hours... Fingers crossed! Remember to check!

Great news, my wife will be overjoyed.

Well, they fixed it! I can log in AND go to my farm now.

However, no compensation, as was promised in my tickets... more than once. sigh

Yay I can log on my main now and enter monster life as well! I didn't get no compensation though.

Still have phase one. Could just be a fluke. I'll try again in a few hours.
