Marksman Bryan Wrote:Ate at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse two days ago, and am eating at Morton's Steakhouse tonight. How was it (Ruth's Chris)? Was the food worth the money or have you had better steaks elsewhere?

Hypermug Wrote:How was it (Ruth's Chris)? Was the food worth the money or have you had better steaks elsewhere? I thought Ruth's Chris had better steak, but the overall meal was better at Morton's. I personally can't ever justify a meal that expensive, but I'm with my dad and he's the one who wanted to go. I should also note that it's restaurant week in DC, so there's a full three course (appetizer, main, dessert) meal for a cheap price. Ruth's Chris steak is pretty amazing, though. They serve it on a 500 degree plate, sizzling in butter. It melts in your mouth. Morton's was a tad more chewy to me. Morton's was also more expensive. Oh, and RC was a choice of 12 or 16 oz while Morton's was only 6 I got a crab cake with mine and that was fucking delicious.

Yes ruths chris (fortunately I have one right down the street from my work) is the best steak place I've ever been too. Morton's was a close second but it depends on the day really. Restaurant week you're probably not going to get their best, but certainly is worth the price (imo). Definitely go to old ebbit grill if you haven't yet. That place is amazing. But only if you like Oysters.

Actually at the airport right now, waiting for my flight back. I came down for the Transportation Research Board (even though I'm not in civil engineering - my father is) because I find it fascinating hearing about the problems with our infrastructure and how they're dealt with. The Tappan Zee project in particular is pretty .. shocking? interesting? Anyways. I describe it as a bunch of old guys talking about cars ![]() I'll have to try out that restaurant next year

Found out that one of my friends from school died a couple days ago. It's surreal, was only a few years ago we were really close, we kinda drifted apart a bit after he moved away. He was only 20.

I go back to school in a couple of days and I'm so excited since I'll be able to see my friends and brothers again. I miss them a bit. Only con of being an out of state student. :/

I started moving. There are some boxes as well as my computer, some TVs, and set-up wifi. We'll finish moving either Monday or Saturday, and DirecTV's coming on Monday. We had Uverse but it's not available in our area, so we have DirecTV service soon and Xfinity internet (which my mom didn't want to do) now. Also, this is our fourth time in this house, and we just noticed that the other two bedrooms have no lights, so the only light in my room is what's coming from the TV and the computer.

Drove down to Victoria last night, and holy pomegranate driving on the Malahat was scary with the crazy drivers and the fog. Saw 4 police cars, of which two had pulled people over (presumably for speeding), and one car accident/ambulance. Glad we made it safely.
Went downtown Vic with Stephen and went to this coffee shop called Dolce Vita: Coffee Art. I ordered a vanilla caramel latte and this is what the little old owner walked up to my table with:
Spoiler
Stephen left me there to enjoy my coffee while he went and did some birthday shopping for me (birthday is on Tuesday)- I can't blame him for waiting until last minute, especially since I'm the only one with a car. I enjoyed my coffee anyways so it didn't bother me in the slightest. The latte tasted awesome, and I'd gladly come back again. Oh yeah, and Stephen's dad offered to pay for us to spend a whole day in Vancouver or Seattle as part of a late Christmas gift. I'm down for that. I've yet to check out Vancouver and it's something I've been wanting to do, although I think it'd be best to spend the night there as opposed to getting up early to catch a ferry and make sure to be back for the last ferry for the day; doing so would make the whole day feel rushed :I
