Beast Tamer discussion thread
Takebacker Wrote:So eunwol is being rescued by animals now? Last i checked he was found by pointy eared "foxes" with mostly human features. He commands spirits of non-specific things, not animals. You know what are animals? Birds, bears, tigers, and cats. You know what aren't animals? Humans with cat ears. I heard there's a pretty enlightening thread in the shenanigans section about a moron who said beast tamer is a furry. You should read it if you want to know the difference between animals and things that are not animals.

What players do with a class and/or the effect on class rosters isn't a reason for why two classes are conceptually similar.

You mean like beast tamer?

You mean like beast tamer? Her existence takes away from "the constant cycle of revamps and rebalances". I would know, i'm a f'ucking cannoneer. My revamp gets delayed because of beast tamer. At least she won't get nerfed into the goddamn ground like eunwol will.

You are.

Sounds like it is.
It isn't. In fact, you misinterpreted some points of my post entirely. I just don't like new classes, and not everybody is going to. It isn't "half-brained". Its just what I think. My point was that the Beast Tamer will add yet another class to balance out, and ellaborating on the fact that its also doubling as a hindrance to your own preferred class isn't exactly a great way to call me out.

Really doesn't matter. Its a small technicality and it doesn't undermine my argument. Its still an animal, or at the very least trying its hardest to be similar to one. Of Eunwol's summons, which are not? Are the vast majority of them not in this category? And I probably am biased against this character's concept. That doesn't matter at all, as I gave plenty of good reasons as to why I dislike her in the first place that are completely unrelated to her on a personal level. I never called the Beast Tamer a furry, I said that the concepts between Eunwol and Beast Tamer are too similar for my liking. And they are.

So beast tamer and eunwol are the same because they are classes.

Wonderful.

Ground Strike: Use the power of the land spirit
Shockwave Punch: Use the power of the land spirit
Bomb Punch: Using the power of the land spirit
Drag Pulling – Down: The blade spirit
Drag Pulling – Front: The blade spirit
Drag Pulling – Turn: The blade spirit
Summon Soul Tent: Summon spirits around you
Bind Area: Create an area imbued with the bond spirit
Summon Redemption: Upon dying, the guardian spirit revives you
Spirit Claw: The wind spirit claws enemies
Death Marker: The death spirit attacks enemies
Division Soul Attack: The fire spirit attacks enemies
Spirit Barrier: The guardian’s spirit surrounds you

There is only two skills that mention anything that could be considered an animal, the fox spirit. Try and tell me that any of those can be considered animals in any way shape or form. I dare you. I guarantee there are other classes that use spirits of animals, so they must be the same as beast tamer!

Wrong again. Do you have a problem with comprehension? I'll lay it out for you:

1. They are both new classes, but their time of release is very shortly spaced apart.
2. Their backstory has much to do with forests/animals/nature, and being saved or assisted by animals or animal like creatures.
3. Their gameplay heavily involves animals who attack for them, in spirit form or otherwise.

The idea of animals who attack for one's character. Its not a bad idea, but because they were released so close to each other, I'm of the opinion that Nexon took one good idea, altered it slightly for another class, and pumped out two jobs to double the profit on potential NX sales. I'm also of the opinion that adding another class to the game is only serving to harm it than to help it, as we have enough diversity already, and the upkeep of balancing yet another job against 20+ others, especially when a similar one exists already, isn't doing the game any favors.

I'll concede to you that I wasn't aware of the skills you listed and probably should have looked into that a bit more carefully.

Declaimed Wrote:Thats my opinion as well. That doesn't mean that its half-brained.

My issue with this class has little to do with its mechanics. Although I'm of the opinion that only so much can be done with any given class to differentiate it from whats arguably a locked down style of play (which involves killing monsters in the same repetitive fashion as every other job), my primary concern with this new class isn't one regarding the way that it handles, but the idea behind it. Though you might not agree with the Basilmarket members complaining of the similarities between this job and Eunwol, you'd have to be blind to not notice the conceptual similarities between two. Whether or not an animal summon is in "spirit form" does absolutely nothing to set it apart from a class whose animal summons are not, and its very clear from the beginning that both classes have a very heavy focus on animals, being rescued by animals, commanding animals, taking refuge in a home for animals...

Maybe you are the blind one? Most of Eunwol's skills do not have to do with animals, and even the owns that have to do with spirits don't really look exactly like any animals. Eunol does not command or summon animals, and he does not summon spirits. All of Beast Tamers skills are centered around her animals. She can also change modes/animals. Completely different. It's like saying Xenon and mechanic are the same because they have robotic and technological skills.

Also, Eunowl was rescued by fox-people. Beast tamer rescues animals. I don't see how that is the same thing. If anything, those are opposites.

They look pretty damn different in play styles and skills to, if you bother to watch any gameplay videos. Looks to me like you know nothing really about the classes and are pretty ignorant to what they are.

Happy mapling. Or not.

There is no right or wrong in this. I'm not saying you aren't correct, and I'm not saying that I'm justified. I simply don't care for the idea behind the class, and felt like posting about it. I have every bit of respect for the opinions of others, as well as your own.

It's just my opinion, which is subjective. Nothing more. Happy Mapling.

well that certainly is a different way of looking at it...

This argument is silly. Declaimed bungled but started to clarify and refine his opinion to make it clear what he/she meant.
Takebacker however, who I actually agreed with more, just sounded like a complete jacka'ss knowingly taking things out of context. Stop d'icking around and actually respect the people with whom you are arguing with. I mean honestly... to add "Happy Mapling. Or Not." to the end of your escapist post is just disgusting. Grow up.

Beast Tamer and EunWol are TOTALLY the same, guys!

.....We make both of them just for their card and/or Link Skill, then bench them!

Singaporean Wrote:I've watched both Spadow's video and multiple videos on youtube and it's as I feared. I seems that to do angry slash, you have to use forepaw slash as a start up. They may even take up the same key from how the casting looked, meaning that forepaw would "evolve" into angry with the skill being on one key OR angry could just have the forepaw start-up built in. Either way, this sucks majorly because (although it has nice range) if you get knock out of range, you will have to move into position and restart angry, losing dps. Also, bosses like gollux require you to move back and forth. The only time for rest would be when using the hyper where you're invincible for 30 seconds. After 100 attacks you would have to restart it as well of course. Also, it seems (from the vids) that any multi attacking move can cancel concentrated strike which is odd because from the look of the skill, it should be able to be toggled like BaM's.

Starting to get quite concerned about tamer now...

Just a quick reminder that Angry Slash passively increases Forepaw Slash's damage. While you won't be churning out MAXIMUM DPS every time you restart Angry Slash, you won't be doing pitiful damage either.

Edit: Forgot to mention that you get 90% stance while using the bear, so you don't have to constantly reposition yourself in most circumstances.

Your responses were win. Muh DB/Cannon update doe :C

I just hope this thing isn't too hard to get to 210 considering my Zero is slowly becoming my first 200, doing all these pre-quests and crap. No time to train outside a few mins a day solo since ppl be like "pay me to leech".

And Eun got nerfed to the ground? Looks likt BT's getting nerfed too.

Nah not yet, it's just obvious that he will given how stupid he is currently/nexon's track record with every other new class in history.

Expecting soul divide to get it's cooldown doubled or tripled.

I expect bonus damage done to the mob decreased to 30% or 20% and that the effect cannot be used on the same monster again.

Oh yeah that's a good guess, 3x damage if you or your party is hitting both soul and boss is pretty damn OP. 2.4 or 2.6x is much more reasonable, but it still needs a longer cooldown so it can't be used as often in boss fights. :/ It only took that one dude 1 or 2 divides plus bind to kill empress solo after all...

lulzace Wrote:I thought I had the whole Real vs. Super thing down then your post confused me.

I guess simply put. When you have robots that power up from raw emotions, the premise of the story is more like a martial arts tournament but with robots, there's no actual massive war going on between people with opposing ideals, and incredibly awesome and crazy stuff happen like a horse piloting a horse Gundam, martial artists can punt skycrapers, and the Statue of Liberty is a gigantic laser cannon, all reasons to call G Gundam a Real(istic) Robot show flies right out the window. Aka it's like calling superhero show a realistic war drama.

Super = Saving the world from outside threats, superheroics
Real = War drama, grittier

There's bound to be lapses of both genres, but there's still usually a more overall theme towards one side.

I don't see Tamer and Eunwol similar at all. I see Tamer and Evan to be similar, because they themselves do nothing and their animal/dragon do everything. I see Eunwol to be more like Kanna in that they channel spirits. So if Tamer and Eunwol are alike then Evan must be like Kanna. (Silly, but it's a silly argument in the first place.)

I wish beast tamer were part of sengoku char deck *cries*
From the trailer impossible to be in sengoku deck :/

I really like the cute bear animations x)
For the snow jaguar, altho they seems to move fast, the movements seems a bit stiff compared to zero's rolling attacks, which looks more fluid.
