Beast Tamer discussion thread
@Spadow any chance that you would make an actual skill build or guide? Do we currently have enough information for one?
Also I'm curious to know your personal opinion on Beast Tamer as far as gameplay and strategy goes for it.
Thanks!

I'm not the type of guy that creates skill builds. Just do whatever you want.
I've played a little bit of Beast Tamer in CMST, but not enough to give my own personal opinion other than that I like it more than Eunwol.
I will probably try one in GMS next week. I'm more familiar with English than Chinese.

Since Eunwol is basically the same thing, isn't this job a bit redundant?

Eunwol and Beast Tamer are not similar at all :f6:

 Spoiler
I reckon you can only get level 100/110 gloves from Root Abyss, and you need to have a level 120+ glove for a DSI line.

Chaos root abyss has chance f giving 100% tier up stuff level 120+ items, but it's a lot rarer.

Saw an emp gun tha had the "all scroll work" effect from th chaos box, sold for max mesos. Imgaine an emp sword....

Perhaps only CRA boxes give out level 120+ items, but regular ones do not.

What on this blue earth would make you think Eunwol is the same as Beast Master, after reading this thread?

How is the forgotten hero that uses knuckels similar to the mage that had 4 animal modes and uses a sick? I don't understand how people confuse them when they are so different.

I said the same thing on Basil, the general response was that both involve characters with animal ears and a tail and that both summon stuff to attack.

Anyone with half a brain though would know they are nothing alike.

They aren't even the same class type Tongue Enwol spent really have as animalistic traits, and he uses spirit animals, nor real animals like beat tamer. Then again this is basil we are talking about. Didn't expect to see it on southperry though, especially again.

I wonder how the empress, fafnir, and sweet water sticks will look like.

Cool backstory.

Nice, though I don't have time to translate the whole thing right now, it goes:
Introduction, Page1:
Beast Tamer's friends were sold to the circus and advertised as 'Conversation Animals'

"From Dawnveil (Commerci: TLN: Apparently, 'ci' is pronounced 'shi' rather than the expected Italian 'chi'), are these 4 talking animals everyone has come and been waiting for."

"The cat Aru (Al?)"
"The Bear Bobo"
"The Snow Leapord (Darn, I forgot the name)"
"The Falcon Eka"**
I'm reciting out of memory now, can't be reading manga during class >.<

Chapter 1:
Maple's Animal heroes and... (I forgot again, let me come back later)

Al(singing): We are happy, etc. etc.,

Anyways, I'm out of time now Sad
I'm busy with a CSE major application, so I probably won't have time to translate until after that. It's so competitive, here at UW >.<

I dunno. It's like people that can't tell G Gundam is a Super Robot show because GUNDAM = REAL ROBOT.

Thats my opinion as well. That doesn't mean that its half-brained.

My issue with this class has little to do with its mechanics. Although I'm of the opinion that only so much can be done with any given class to differentiate it from whats arguably a locked down style of play (which involves killing monsters in the same repetitive fashion as every other job), my primary concern with this new class isn't one regarding the way that it handles, but the idea behind it. Though you might not agree with the Basilmarket members complaining of the similarities between this job and Eunwol, you'd have to be blind to not notice the conceptual similarities between two. Whether or not an animal summon is in "spirit form" does absolutely nothing to set it apart from a class whose animal summons are not, and its very clear from the beginning that both classes have a very heavy focus on animals, being rescued by animals, commanding animals, taking refuge in a home for animals...

It isn't an issue of whether or not the Beast Tamer can spam her attacks slightly faster or in a slightly different way from Eunwol. It has everything to do with the fact that, in a game that is already suffering from an extremely bloated (and largely unnecessary) roster of available classes to choose from, the decision has been made to further exacerbate the problem by adding an additional one that serves little purpose to the game (from what I can tell) and does nothing else in the long run apart from being a casual aside or a buff: especially with the boss damage % at stake. It'll be made for link skills and thrown away just like every other class we've gotten in the past few years, apart from those exceptionally overpowered or popular.

Why bother with this sort of thing? Don't we have enough? Can't we focus on something that won't add to the constant cycle of revamps and rebalances currently dominating the updates? It could be that I'm biased. Who knows? Maybe "Flame Fart" isn't a particularly exciting first job skill to me. Maybe animals just aren't my thing. Or maybe my opinion is simply different from yours, or the entire board's. It doesn't matter: What does matter is, it isn't ignorant.

So eunwol is being rescued by animals now? Last i checked he was found by pointy eared "foxes" with mostly human features. He commands spirits of non-specific things, not animals. You know what are animals? Birds, bears, tigers, and cats. You know what aren't animals? Humans with cat ears. I heard there's a pretty enlightening thread in the shenanigans section about a moron who said beast tamer is a furry. You should read it if you want to know the difference between animals and things that are not animals.

What players do with a class and/or the effect on class rosters isn't a reason for why two classes are conceptually similar.

You mean like beast tamer?

You mean like beast tamer? Her existence takes away from "the constant cycle of revamps and rebalances". I would know, i'm a f'ucking cannoneer. My revamp gets delayed because of beast tamer. At least she won't get nerfed into the goddamn ground like eunwol will.

Declaimed Wrote:It could be that I'm biased.

You are.

Sounds like it is.
