Archaic mechanics in Maple.

Gymleaders Wrote:I think the pet system isn't necessarily archaic, but just stupid. We shouldn't have to pay for a pet... And then have to pay for each specific task it can do. You should buy a pet, and it should already be able to pick your stuff up.

Binoculars/Wing Boots/Scale/etc should be the optional purchase, not its ability to simply pick up items that drop.

I prefer JMS's way of managing this. You buy a pet and it already has skills (skills are dependent on what pet you buy), the only downside is that it expires in 30 days rather than 90.

I guess it can be nice...it depends how much the pet costs.

Do you have any idea how much it would be in conversion to US dollars?

IIRC, my Kyubei was like 9-12 dollars...I think. But the pet is transferrable to ALL characters on my account. Revives are only 3 dollars I think?

*Macro system needs to be redone a bit.. something has always seemed off with it.
*Pets.
*2x events, they should hand out special 2x cards that can stack and don't expire once you log off. I guess this can be said to 2x buff coupons, why should we lose them when we d/c?
*Events that give low level rewards
*Quests. Needs to be completely redone. We have a 2x quest exp coupon, but the quests we currently have don't really warrant this.
*Quick slotting certain items or Monster familars

Just to name some that are old and outdated.

Zero and RLH absolutely warrant quest boosters.

Questing to level is faster than straight training after U&I.

2x quest exp doesn't work in RLH? Only Zero but that coupon has been there long before Zero.

If there was a way to get NX for mesos I'd pretty much be set as far as pets go, unless they set the ratio super high. Like, I wouldn't mind spending 10mil on a new character to give it a 1 month looting pet, or 100mil to make it permanent.

The looting system.
I love being able to get 1 item per second when I hold down my pick up key.

It does.

So the way the internet works is archaic...?

Takebacker Wrote:Why is that a bad thing? Some classes gain a ridiculous amount of damage from having buffs, and if they die with them on their long cooldowns prevent them from doing 100% of DPS. Almost crippling in some cases (xenon, paladin) where you have to sit around for at least 10-20 seconds buffing. Some classes only have like 4 buffs (cannoneers excluding buckshot since it's no delay, i think corsairs) so they can get back to the fight really quickly after death.

The movement thing really just comes down to strategy. You can't just go in and buff like it's no problem anymore, just like you can't go in and have 0 risk of death anymore like in the old days when everyone complained that bossing is all just sit and spam.

I don't mind castable self buffs. I mind the fact that there's so fucking many of them, all of varying durations.

Pretty sure the 2x coupons we get are internet cafe coupons, and those items are lost when you disconnect. That's why when you DC the weapons disappear. I just don't think much thought was put into the event in general.

I agree with Niernen; about the cash shop inventories. And the funny thing is, they were not separated, then Nexon took a few steps back and separated them. They just need to stop screwing over their customers and just combine all cash shop inventories once and for all. It'd be HUGE if Nexon did this... And by huge I mean it'd make them not look like asses.

When you are buying or trading in something and it makes you do it 1 by 1, like trading tickets for Monster Park or scrolls from the Red shop.
Nurturing monsters 1 by 1 in Monster Life.

OMG YES. the macro system is so bad! I'd love additional macro slots, and longer macro chains, but-the-botters....
And the 2x cards could double click in USE, to create a Cash Inventory card that will not expire.

I wanted nexon to add this when they added Cash Shop Trade option. but-the-chinese-meso-farmers...
I believe we also aren't getting the (i forget the name) Maple Points Rewards thingie. Sad

The duration bit is just mostly me being lazy its more of a convenience thing. But being able to move while buffing is fabulous, and the idea of "YOU GET TO CHOOSE WHEN YOU CAN BE A SITTING DUCK!" does not sound like fun strategy making at all. I didn't consider cooldown buffs as part of my 'most buffs' list,

I guess the amount of times I've been 1hko'd by a fast meteorite in Magnus, just from casting ONE BUFF (void) is too damn high.

How you have to wait like 2 seconds after using/double clicking an item to use/double click another item. That in combination with only being able to open items one at a time made opening r/e/d/christmas boxes/fame envelopes/honor emblems a huge hassle. Is it that hard to implement a "how many would you like to use" option? There's one for dropping items. They could just queue them all then stop you if you run out of space or hit max azwan level (if possible)

I didn't mean to imply this kind of thing was fun, just that it's not entirely mindless. Magnus in general pisses me the f'uck off so naturally it would be AWESOME if all buffs had no delay or toggle or whatever but it's not exactly balanced either.

No, the "wait for previous item to be looted before asking for another" system is the problem. You can easily send 2 packets asking to loot items (or one packet asking to loot 2 items)... MS's client just doesn't.

Until pets were released, you could pick up 2 items by hitting 'loot' twice. Then they made that change... which hackers immediately got around using 'supertubi' leaving regular players with shitty looting while hackers could suck up huge piles of vacced mobs' loot.

I won't lie. Having so many buffs that had either a large cd or some other bs made me quit my DS because bosses having cheap KO tricks makes you practically useless.

Example: Arkariums boss fight. As a DS I have to rely on either buying buff freezers or just flat out sucking for the next 90 secs when my dark meta and blue blood are on cd. Magnus is another issue. And possibly any other boss...

Its times like those that I wish I could main zero for it's ease of buffing, but whenever I play it for more than a hour I get a headache LOL
