This kind of pisses me off since I'm just now getting around to scrolling my Raven Horn set with decent results, but that's about it. I understand why some folks are a bit disheartened, but overall this will help close the gap and make better equipment more accessible. What's the problem with that?

Why would only one coin out of the large group of coins that drop be shared amongst the party? Root Abyss runes get distributed evenly, why are Gollux Coins suddenly exempt from this kind of behavior? How are players expected to divvy up the coins if they enter the boss knowing that only one person will be getting a substantial number of coins? Does that seem fair?
And besides, from what I've read of your posts, you're only being so indignant because there were a few comments about you earlier in the thread. They only made those comments because you were being so standoffish in the first place.
because people like you continue to misquote me, out of context, and misrepresent what was said. continuing to blow things out of proportion without actually discussing the initial argument. parties in question have agreed that neither of us can determine the legitimacy of the bug claim. I was personally tagged, in an off topic thread from a completely different forum. Continued attacks against me make me happy that Mob Mentality doesn't = who's right.
Root Abyss item loots recently changed in players' favor and more people can now loot equips. Root Abyss coin loot, much like party quest currency items, are shared among the entire party. one coin drop, per person, when you have inventory space. IN ADDITION TO the shared coin loot GOLLUX has, is a second coin, i continue to call 'treasure coin'. When no equip drops from Gollux, at least a player has the benefit of looting a treasure coin. My guild takes turns looting coins after we kill. When its not my turn to loot, do I wish we shared coins? YES. Do I think the developers made a mistake? NO.

Not going to bother replying to anything else because I have nothing new to add, but if and when someone at Nexon responds to the thread I posted in the bug reporting forum we'll have an answer. I think the developers did make a mistake which is why I posted it as a bug. If you want to continue arguing then PM me, or maybe post in the Gollux thread instead, but here is not the place for this discussion.

lol @ how far this thread has fallen.
And when I think about it and as others have expressed it, does increased drop rate really change anything when the majority of players don't have the equipment to go toe-to-toe with CRA bosses anyway? It's BS like this which is why games like Vindictus appeal to me more... for the progression of getting equipment through self-sufficiency and skill. What we have in Maple is nothing more than throwing money at a boss to kill it faster before it kills us, and that's not really fun, is it?

The problem is that the FM get's flooded with these End-Game Gears.
>Prices Drop
>Everyone can afford Eng-Game Gear
>RA becomes the new Empress
>Nexon releases a new set because the Best set isn't special anymore
>Only way to be stronger than others is by cubing and scrolling
>Nexon makes more money
>The game also becomes less competitive cause everyone has end-game gear
>Less competition = pomegranatety game
Not so sure about the last part...
I know it's kinda lame how the rich only get richer, but at the end the game would be ruined if everyone was godly.
Boss drops aren't the only way to fund yourself.
There are other ways to get to the point where you can kill these bosses and start making money from them too.

It's not mob mentality (and I can assure you, persuading yourself that you're right does not mean you're right). It's you simply being an ass to someone who had a genuine concern, and you've been nothing but self-righteous when they were being civil and compliant. Additionally, you continue to argue, flame bait, and derail the topic.
Here you are making baseless speculations on what you think should be right, and how you think the game should be.
According to the rules, if you think it's a bug, it can be posted there. As far as I know, @Mazz is pretty convinced it's a bug. So, what exactly is wrong with the thread?
And here is your second self-righteous post. Do you honestly think you're the only one who's killed "every changelog of Gollux", and do you think Mazz hasn't? Pretty sure Mazz regularly kills every profitable boss.
kayeyearekay Wrote:Here's one of my first Gollux threads, dated a month before you even got that far. Link
Here you are acting like you have some sort of superiority complex because you made a Gollux post before him. Who... cares? Your complaint was a valid one, but in your post you continued to stress it as an undocumented change that "drastically affects gameplay". I can assure you, it did not "drastically affect gameplay", because it didn't affect a majority of players.
And additionally, I'd just like to say that Gollux in general has been an iterative process for Nexon. They're constantly changing it to improve/balance it. There's reasons they're changing it often. They've done numerous changes for both good and bad, and will probably continue to do so. Giving input like this is nothing but beneficial to Nexon, because it helps cater to their players (which is something they are trying to do lately), and listen to concerns. Will they do this? Only Nexon knows. Will they consider it if no one brings up the idea? Definitely not.
So basically, the absolute only real argument you have is that his thread is possibly in the wrong section. Which in that case, it can be fixed simply...
On the topic of CRA drops, needless to say I agree with the people who think it's a short term change, like I've stated before, and bad for the long run. Prices are plummeting, and it's just going to get worse. Once Chaos Vellum is able to be tackled, I fear the weapons won't last too long after that either.
This is honestly worse than the duping of CRA, IMO.

It's not normal for new endgame bosses to come out and no progress is made for the players in general, only the 10 people who could kill the old endgame boss get richer.
Boss drops are the only way to fund yourself without buying NX. You can't earn 1 billion a day by any other methods, and if you want the 50+b equips necessary to kill CRA, you'd better be earning more than 10-12million a day.

Not true at all.
I don't spend money on nx and I used to be so weak I need 20 min to solo zakum.
Now I can get up to 1m 54k range. I might not be able to solo CRA bosses, but I can kill them in a party and I can still solo other bosses with good drops to make mesos.
But I didn't achieve that by spending money on NX or getting 1b mesos a day.

I've been reading up on Eunwol, and once he comes out, Chaos Vellum will definitely be less of a pain given how Soul Split works.
...of course, that is in 3-4 months. We have no idea what will happen in the interim.

Considering he can basically make entire party hit 4x dmg, I bet killing CVellum won't be as hard anymore when it's released.

Nexon's going to release a new, better set eventually in the first place. But it's not going to be because RA has become more commonplace, especially when Nexon knows little about how the game works, it'll be whenever the hell they feel like it. There's no new better sets coming in the next several months, and I don't see that changing.
DavyJonesx Wrote:>Only way to be stronger than others by cubing and scrolling

This is going to happen anyway. When new, better equipment is released (this is going to continuously happen) people will work to obtain that gear, and will then scroll and cube it. And if it's from a boss that only the rich can kill, then it will once again be stupidly overpriced and something most people will never see in their equipment window.

Just having end-game gear doesn't really mean anything. Before this drop change I had my mind set that I would never obtain any RA gear, because it was all 1b+ and it wasn't something I'd be able to obtain without investing a lot more time into the game, despite already playing quite a bit. Even if I were to obtain the RA gear through just playing the game (even with this drop rate), I wouldn't be able to scroll and/or cube it very well (if at all), and I'll wager most people in the game won't be able to either.
This drop change has absolutely no downsize for the vast majority of the people playing this game. It brings the possibility of obtaining more end-game gear to people that under normal circumstances, would not be able to. Especially now with them "nerfing" Sweetwater drops, and the Sweetwater armor already being rare and overpriced as it is.

if maple trickle down continues to help fund low level players, than this helps to take steps towards nexon's publicized less-pay2win campaign. but in contrast t how they reduced sweetvwater loots, this barely evens out. the range needed to kill these bosses is higher than just the gear it drops. When higher level players sell end game equips at affordable prices, end game equips come down to who can scroll/cube/enhance the best. and even tho cra's been beaten, not everyone can kill it, so it gives weaker players something to strive for still.
i agree, it will become similar to old-style empress, where just about anyone could faceroll v2 for loot. If the selling price of these equips drops below the necessary effort to kill the boss, my guild an i will simply farm for other guildies who may not be as fortunate as we have been with equips.
but, what happens when, like sweetvwater, nexon decides the drop rate is too low and reverses this change; or simply nerfs the drop rate back into the dirt. everyone may still have a chance to loot, but at a fraction of the current rate, and in a few weeks time, prices will rise back up.
i would like to know what type of business/economics model the decision makers are trying to follow when they adjust drop rates of sweetvwater and cra. in addition, cra top/bot dont even transpose into sweetvwater, so isn't that even less incentive to strive towards the nearly defunct sws?

Yes but if the prices of the equips aren't abysmally low, you have the following options:
Gain income by selling boss drops. You can use this income to improve your equipment.
You can purchase NX to improve equipment additionally.
What happens when boss drops are worth next to nothing?
You can purchase NX to improve equips, and that's about it.
Basically it cuts income away from players with them being so cheap.
Granted, a very small amount of players are benefiting from the drops, but still. It's unhealthy for the game.
However, maybe Nexon thinks that having this gear so "unobtainable" isn't good for the game, and isn't how they want it to be. I can also partially agree with that, but I still think if they were going to have it like that, they needed to consistently have it like that from the beginning.

I'm sorry, but there continues to be almost nothing I see wrong with this change, at all. This change, whether intended or not, gives a lot of people access to gear they normally would not be able to obtain without spending a lot of money both in-game and on NX. The market for RA gear isn't going to suddenly just shrivel up. It's going to exist for quite some time, and it will get bigger before it gets smaller, because there's so few people in the game that don't have any.
Yes, I can agree the change to Empress as well was... not necessary, as Empress was already considerably cheap.
So what if there's even even a little bit more spent on NX? So. What. People are going to spend money on NX whether they've got end-game gear or not.

This did not change who could kill CRA bosses. Sure, more people might attempt it in parties now, but if you could not kill it before, chances are you still can not. The people that can kill it get more drops. They still control the market on them though. Sure, people that could kill them might bring more people for more drops, but that is their choice.

Yeah, it's good in the short run, because everyone gets cheaper equipment. But once the people who are going to actually cube them do all of that, it's just going to be equipment for lesser funded people to buy clean and never cube... And if you're against it being added to empress, why aren't you against it being added to CRA?

CRA would have to increase to Empress level of supply and Empress level of demand for this to be the case. The only way CRA is going to get to that point is if (or more when) they release a newer set that outdoes what CRA does. So almost inevitably, this would happen anyways.
Why is Empress so hard to sell now? Well the market was already reasonably saturated, but more importantly, the demand for Empress has dropped significantly. Why don't people buy Zakum Helms or Horntail Pendants? Aside from the fact that the bosses are significantly easier to kill now, those equips are outdone by Empress and CRA equips.
