I think any semblance of game balance was out the window years ago, so this couldn't possibly do much worse than the potential system did.

Oh look, it's the same few individuals in the thread who think partying and fair access to boss drops is a bad thing for the game. I almost wish the dupers were back.

I like how most of the people poming the first post are highly funded players who 1. Know about it already, and 2. Wanted the knowledge to be kept on the downlow so that they could profit off of it themselves. Talk about slimy. Intentional or not, it would have gotten out anyway.

I'd initially agree this is seemingly great for the mass underfunded players who were not able to get these items due to the ridiculous price tags, however, on the other end of the spectrum, what does this mean for the highly funded players, who were motivated to continue playing and improving their equips at the prospects of being able to fund themselves entirely with in game currency? I see a lot of these players, in particular, losing motivation to even bother with these bosses if there isn't a sizeable return for their efforts in getting to that level of funding in game. Also this influx of clean end game gear isn't going to close the gap between the highly funded and the unfunded the way people are immediately thinking it will. The extremely powerful are such because of the potentials, scrolling and enhancing done to their equips. Clean RA sets aren't going to be enough of a boost for previously unfunded players to defeat Empress and CRA, and with a lack of profit, the highly funded will lose motivation in bossing altogether.

Yeah, there's still the issue that it takes about a week to earn a single cube ingame...
Maybe if CRA was dropping Meister/Master Craftsman Cubes this would matter to me, but it's just more availability on items I don't need because I can't cube them. Not to mention the godly players above still have a 10x drop advantage over me, because of their funding...

Hopefully if Nexon are looking at reports more closely (if anyone else saw the notice in-game yesterday) they can ban groups of illegitimate players now rather than picking them off one at a time.
There's also no reason at all to solo bosses now, which is great! It's almost like MapleStory is trying to become a real MMO.

All I'm going to say is: I got 400, yes 400 empress equips on runs today. CRA? 30 equips. Income from those bosses is basically going to be nothing now relative to those who are funded enough to do them. If you can do empress, less than 10m per equip is not going to cut it for you, especially when you'll have a hard time selling it at 10m per. If you can do croot, you spend hundreds of K of nx per item...KMS's 50m levels of pay for each equip is not going to cut it either.
What does that mean? The game is more pay to win, not less. What does a noob have to look forward to when defeating new bosses besides just beating it. He's worked all this time to get strong enough to FINALLY kill empress/cra, and what happens? His income stays the same and he gets minimal reward. How do you make money off of boss drops when there are 6x as many of them in an already saturated fm? How does he further improve himself after coming all this way so that he can take the next step and beat another boss ? Really, it's very difficult and really, there's no point in doing it because he doesn't even get more income to work towards that new tier. Like @Outrightliar said, The majority of what you spend and the effectiveness on an equip is NOT the clean equip. It's the scrolling and cubing. The point of the game is to get rewards from EFFORT YOU PUT IN. What this does is rewards effort LESS , and therefore rewards spending MORE on NX. It was already a problem for lower level bosses, which didn't drop anything of value, but now it's extended to the ridiculous bosses too. Basically there's no way to make good money off boss drops anymore besides gollux. The effort required vs reward is so skewed that I don't know why anyone would work to get stronger anymore. It does help the lower level players VERY slightly, but at the price of the end game players (which is what lower level players are usually striving for...). Not worth it. As for party players: you didn't get any increased income because the equips will deflate massively, proportional to the drop rate increase. Most solo'ers will just bring in 5 looters. There was a problem with this game, but doing this only made it worse, it didn't fix anything.

What about, instead of getting income, you get the means to get the things you'd had bought? You can get cubes, equipments and scrolls. If equipments are easier to buy, well, they are easier to scroll too. I think 400 is a bit ridiculous, but increased drops? And making people PARTY? Yes please. Now people won't just look at you as a burden to share equipment with. You'll be seen as an actual help, without losses.

I'd much rather have HARDER equips to obtain, and EASIER ways to empower them. That seems like much better balance than hard to obtain ways to scroll/potential and easy ways to obtain gear. You can't buy gear with NX; you can only improve it with NX. So having cheap gear really doesn't help anyone when the gear honestly isn't the issue. The issue is the price it takes to make the gear good. If NX was more optional, say for impatient people, or people who want to upgrade easier, then that's one thing. But if there's so much equipment and none of it is really getting scrolled/cubed... Well, what use is that for anyone? There's just going to be a bunch of extra equips like there is of empress right now. And while I agree with Vanderlust, I only agree with what he said, because he's one of the few people in this thread who made any valid points and had reasoning.

The system is obviously bugged right now. There is no way a party is suposed to rake in hundreds of Empress stuff and dozens of CRA armor per run.

Personaly, I just pom'd it because it was badly written and held clumsy conclussions. I have not even been profiting much on boss runs since the glory days of HT an MW30 books.

On the bright side being able to kill the bosses on your own or with friends, something that was pretty discouraged before, allows you to freely gear mule characters which has always been something encouraged by nexon. With cheap emp and ra i can gear up my phantom/bishop/bucc to be strong enough to farm gollux for scrolls or commerci for cube materials, which are easy enough to beat with clean end game gear sets.

Parties on this level almost always profit share anyway so all this does is create a massive increase in supply when it isn't needed. If they put in this system but lowered the drop rate accordingly it would be more fair to the economy but it would probably screw over small parties even more and reward huge parties unless it was a sliding scale but that seems too complicated for nexon. They don't really care about the exp either so making it party play if it isn't already wouldn't achieve that either.

Going to be doing the same, I can get a full RA set for my Xenon pretty easily now, might even be able to gear up for a 2nd hell Gollux character if I make a few more good tradeable items @_@ I think this is a good change, the stronger players have been able to profit immensely from these bosses already and it's nice that the items are becoming more available for everyone else. Next step is to make cubes/scrolls feasibly available without the use of NX cash so the number of people able to actually kill these bosses is increased, rather than just the number of people able to use the equips. I'm also not sure if I should be happy or unhappy at Gollux not giving separate drops like this too, but we'll see I guess.

For pendants to make the 4th set eff as common as this is just too much although it would make getting pendants for individual groups to use for themselves much easier. It can take months to gear up a full group on Gollux equips though, even longer if everyone is fully scrolling everything. That's just reminded me, I should post on the forums about the stack of Gollux coins not being distributed to everyone in the party evenly, I'm sure that's a bug. They're probably sick of me complaining about things related to Gollux by now though

They made the keys not expire recently (though it doesn't really matter since the npc only gives you a max of 3 anyway) so they're still changing things. I would say it's worth a shot bringing that up.
