After watching this again, I'm starting to think that these videos are an intentional effort to force older players to do some self-reflection as to why they're still playing this game...

It has nothing o do with age-range, anyways why would they want people 16+ to quit? don't they get rich 'cause of those players?

I didn't hated the video, and IDC, the skills animations and everything overall about the beast tamer seems good enough

my girlfriend wanted to play maplestory after watching that video, so FML.. but I don't think its childish.. only a bit girly-ish..

All of the major events ending on the 15th (including zero creation) is far more often than not as close to confirmation as you can get.

All the events for JMS were going to end on the 15/16 as well, then they pushed it back. I'm not sure if the events are getting extended (Got the game working way too late to care about most of them, so I didn't look into it).

Don't be surprised if it gets pushed to the 22nd as well, it really seems like they want(ed) to do a simultaneous release.

Eh, I think if GMS was going to push it back a week, they would have delayed releasing the micro-site until a week beforehand as well.

I dunno, the announcement to postpone the update in JMS was on the 8th (Early 8th or late 7th in the US, basically), after the teaser had been brought online (The 6th, according to your own post). Might have been too late to take it down without causing a stir in the community. I still can't find any reference to it anywhere on the GMS site at all, except maybe the Forums but I try to stay away from that out of respect for my brain. I would imagine that if they were releasing it on the 15th, they would have some sort of link on the main page, but I can't find one anywhere.

They haven't pushed back the CMS or TMS dates I don't think. So it might just be a JMS problem.

I really hope the release is on the 15th. I wish they'd just announce a date already, it's gonna be either the 15th or the 22nd, they should just say it.

I've played many different pc games since I was 10, and have been a part of many different game communities as a result. Just based on my own experience, I would say that Maplestory probably enjoys the most female-dense gaming community I've come across. The runner up might be League of Legends, unless there is another game out there that is more female friendly than I can recall. I obviously don't have numbers or studies done, this is just based on my experience.

That is not to say that I would not enjoy more female players in MS, but I believe MS is blessed with more female-dense player population than most other games.

If Beast Tamer is coming out next week, patch highlights should be up within the next 3-3.5 hours. Excited

Why would they try to convince older players to quit the game while also designing endgame content that only older players have the disposable income to be able to beat?

Mommy isn't going to spend thousands of her hard earned dollars just so Little Jimmy can beat Cygnus so he can get the gear to beat Magnus so he can get the gear to beat Vellum so he can get the gear to beat Evil Dorothy so he can get the gear to beat.....

No. The pattern for the last year has been that Patch Highlights -or- a microsite comes out on the Friday evening 2 weekends before the release (it was only one weekend once, but two for all the rest.). The patch NOTES themselves now arrive the night before the actual patch or during the patch.

We have the microsite. They may still post Highlights. Don't expect Notes.

People really thought I was being serious when I made that comment about the video intentionally making older players feel uncomfortable lol? I was just kidding, obviously older players are the ones with the $. It's just funny how they come out with slightly amazing videos such as Demon Slayer, Luminous, Hayato, Kanna, etc. and then release Angelic Buster/Beast Tamer type videos that are almost reminders of how this game is really designed for kids lol. I get that this game really isn't only for kids necessarily, but it's clear that they want you to start as young as possible lol. I think Beast Tamer is the most childish video ever though, despite how girlish Buster's was.

I see nothing wrong with them releasing more "fun" videos. Actiony videos would get boring after a while if we kept getting them.

Whats wrong with a little bit of girly fun? Angelic Burster was a parody/homage to Magical Girls, and Beast Tamer seems to be going the same way and is very anime inspired. We have no idea how funny/well written Beast Tamers storyline is going to be, we were all pleasantly surprised by Angelic Burster.

How did people expect a "Beast Tamer" to work in a game like maplestory? how "realistic" do the animals have to be? It's a cartoon game for christs sake, of course Beast Tamer is going to be cartoony, and her intro video should reflect that.

Did you expect some grimdark intro video where everybody dies? If you did, you are playing the wrong game and have no right to complain.
