[Complete] Unscheduled Server Maintenance - January 1, 2014

What would be the point of leaving the servers up and telling everybody to stop playing?

Also, I am saddened it took until almost midnight central for the servers to go down. One really can't help but feel bad for these guys though. They've worked their asses off so much since RED due to patch extensions and hackers just being general dicks.

Well you can still do minigames and chat for the heck of it. It's something... Better than the game being down for days.

Oh, don't worry, there are rond of hacks kept private.
The people that find them are smart enough for that.
EMS had a guy who had a lot of information on pretty much every EMS hack existing and he sent it to nexon EU multiple times. After being ignored for ages he gave up and decided to use them. They're still not fixed.

Found the thread on the hacking forum:

Dupe released 11:53pm EST (8:53pm PST) on the 8th December
USC began 2:20pm EST on the 9th December (so the game was up for under 15 hours)
MS rolled back to 8pm PST 8th December

This time around:

Dupe released 8:23pm EST (5:23pm PST) on 31st December
USC began 12:35am EST (9:35pm PST) on the 2nd(/1st) January (game was up for ~28 hours)
If they decide to roll back fully, it'll likely be to 5pm PST on the 31st, which is a loooooong time, so we'll see I guess.. though I don't think they have much choice.

Maybe they'll roll back up to the point where they blocked Hired Merchants/Permits from being sold in the Cash Shop and forget about the rest? No idea when that happened though. Was asleep I think.

they couldnt exactly shut down the FM, or ppl would be standing in towns spaming S> XYZ@@@@s

they could just ban those peoples accounts instead of a rollback?

anyhoo a rollback can't be just to when they stopped selling merchants - most of the duping would have occurred before they took action to reduce it.

but 28 hours is heaps. the hacker chose their timing well - just when nexon workers leaving to go party - for maximum chaos

No hellban here. I was actually expecting one, because I had my shop open for about 6 hours after the dupe first went public while I was sleeping.

Tryst knew the GMs close to personally, yet he only decided to send tickets about the hacks, not speak to the GMs he knows. Tryst did not ticket the hacks to get them solved, he ticketed the hacks to get attention.

Already found a few shops with obviously duped quantities of valuables.

I think they're planning to deal with the duped stuff in the scheduled maintenance they postponed, in the interest of blocking this and getting the game back up ASAP.

Everyone should take that as a warning to be very careful between now and the next maintenance or risk being inventory-locked or banned for touching the naughty stuff that still exists.

Accounts of some people who bought duped items in the most heavily affected servers (Scania, Broa, Windia by the looks of it) are untouched. The duped items and meso are still on them and in some cases they're not even hellbanned.

I was really hoping for a rollback. I know of "legit" players who bought lots of no boom aees and put them in storage (and who know what else they bought), also the amount of ppl that scrolled their tyrants up to 15 stars with exploited scrolls, lots of 81 att lidium hearts, lots of nebs.
They are just telling people that using exploited products is ok... Right now this hacker that really profited off the exploit is showing off his items via smega, saying how much nexon sucks.
Funny thing? They aren't even hellbanned.
