Maple.FM - Free Market Search Tool

Faytth Any plans for MSEA/EMS, or just GMS? I would understand just GMS from your perspective.

Aside from the gamebreaking, it's probably a good idea to stay away. There was a file of the same exact name that got a lot of people hacked.

Faytth Wrote:Yes, I plan on adding a histogram as well as a 30-day median price. Later on I want to add a price checker powered by machine learning for really accurate price estimates.

Just note that events can totally buckle the price trend. c.f. MW20/MW30 before and after RED and just before RED was announced. I have friends versed and researching on machine learning but that's not my field.

Also, dem hackers :x they wreck prices too.

You're thinking of maplefm (not Maple.FM), which is very similar. I appreciate your concern, though. Smile

kruimel0; The person I'm working with (he does the data side of things) said he has plans to expand to EMS soon.

hadriel; One of the nice things this site does is it exposes all of the meso sellers. If Nexon wanted to go on a mass ban spree, they could just do a search for Arrow and sort by price.

look at all these casuals finding yet another thing to complain about, why am I not surprised
I've been using it quite a lot recently, wish it would update more often though Rolleyes may as well get some use out of it while it's around, good job/thanks etc :p

is there any need for this? especially when you know you're talking to someone more funded than you(if you want to use casual). this is still cheating(no surprise that you'd use it lol). it doesn't belong here, you can't argue that. also, how is one a "casual" at maplestory? you can't even compete with other players lol. this game, by design, is casual.

Competition and undercutting that's already there. People compete for the best prices all the time, that's the entire point of a free market.

Quote:i'm cool with all of this but i have a feeling most people aren't(ruins greed). it'll also makes the free market less "free".
How does it make the market less free? This site isn't forcing people to put their prices lower. The thing that forces people to make their prices lower is other people selling the same thing.

Quote: it is pretty gamebreaking, or game altering if you prefer, and is against the terms of service, takes away from their profits while creating someone else's, and isn't likely moderated well enough to prevent account stealing/drive-by's etc.(ITS FAYTH FFS).

I don't think the casual players are really complaining about this though, just people who follow Nexon's code religiously.

it's not about following tos religiously, it's about seeing some of what i deem fun be taken away. half the fun of the fm to me is the search, finding who's got lower prices, the silent undercuts by popping in and out of fm's 1-3 repeatedly, etc.

i think it makes the market less "free" for the reasons above, i think that was more of a poor choice of wording on my part than anything. it doesn't make it less free by rules or function, just in... creativity?

i don't believe in nexon's tos or follow it religiously but i also don't gamble my account(due to the ridiculous number of falsebans). this kinda thing is nice and all at first but in practice it would change a lot of things. instead of people searching around for prices they just punch it in and check it out in 3s. idk, i enjoy that aspect of the fm and i'm not sure i'd want to see it go. i apologize for stating my opinion on fun as factual on accident in my previous post. i meant to share an opinion on why i don't agree with this really. i haven't slept in 2 days, my bad.

A system like this has been in other games for years, it's not like the idea is something new.
Regardless, this thread will get shut down soon anyway. As much as I like the idea it's still against the ToS (which means it's illegal to discuss here) and the drama level is quickly rising so that doesn't exactly help.

so basically this site is only possible because of botting

At least it isn't botting which is spamming cash4gold sites, or the kind of botters that keep teleporting around vac hack killing monsters.

People wouldn't have to go to such roundabout ways if Nexon would just include something like this in the game. the current free market system is pomegranate, and always has been. And it's one of the areas that has been largely untouched, even recently with all the updates which are decreasing the pay2win gap.

I hope the auction house system works better, but then again i'm not expecting much, and it will probably be exploited or dominated in some way by the rich elite of maple as usual.

To mention people, don't forget the semicolon e.g. "@Faytth" + ";" = @Faytth; [hmm I messed up somehow... @Faytth works and so does @Faytth;? But yours didn't work...]

I can compare this to Basil's website, and any standard auction house in-game. As of now, this can be seen as undermining the game due to the loss of revenue from Owls, and it still is a form of botting. I have to admit though, I would hate to lose this function. I consider this a pre-auction house alternative that is technically shaded, but morally ok. But in comparision to Basil, which posts prices a user "quotes", Basil offers a complementary function with minimal invasion to the actual game, while yours extracts data from the game directly and overlaps directly with some parts of the game function.

"Nice" is a subjective adjective -- I would surely imagine Nexon is more than capable of logging all price changes etc. on FM shops, and track down what has been sold etc. This is a "nice" but external advantage.

I'm not interested in what happened before. I'm only interested in the motive (by a bit only) and the functions and capabilities.

Wow, looking across all of the servers, I can draw on one conclusion.

Broa houses all of the dupers. Lulz.

won't we lose our official fansite status over discussing this, this thread is basically " hey look someone is hacking but it's okay because it benefits everyone"

Honestly I don't get it.
If this worked with bots like the other one, shouldn't we see more/new bots in fm?
Wouldn't it cost him money to keep bots running all day?
And all that for free?
Idk...
Seems very vague.

It's very helpful and I'm still using it tho. Rolleyes
Tnx for the service Faytth;

Maybe you can add a filter by potential? (eg. only show items with 12% luk lines)
#39
Was testing it, and when I typed "Tyr" to search Tyrants, the first thing that popped up was a "Reverse Black Beauty". Looks like you have a looped text variable of sorts?

It does seem odd, I guess later on the site would make enough ad revenue to make a profit since who wouldn't use the site but right now... Does it even pay for the site?
