That's pretty ironic once I think about it. All this time after Luminous, we totally forgot all about the Pirate Hero. It honestly felt like it should've been the other way around.

Basically in the tutorial,

Eventually, he returns to Maple World, but it's very different because although he thinks only one year passed, it was actually hundreds. From then on, he tries to meet up with the heroes. First he went to Afrien in the Sleeping Dragon Island, but he only sees Evan. Then he realizes Freed is gone... but he doesn't want to give up and he sends a note in a bottle out to sea, hoping that Freed will reply (super sad).
Then I think its Mercedes, so he goes to Elluel. But actually all of Elluel was put under a dream by the BM's commander Lucid (who is an elf btw, so). After freeing everyone from that dream, he realizes Mercedes isn't there so he said he'll come back another time.
Then Aran, who doesn't remember him.
Then Phantom, who they can't find because he's Phantom. So he goes to his storage thingy in Orbis and Phantom attacks him (ergo he doesn't remember EunWol).
Then Luminous, who doesn't remember him either.

He then goes back to Miu Miu but... no one remembers him. He goes back to Maple World to Helena, but she doesn't remember him either now. => Every time he moves through the dimensions, everyone forgets about him (a fate worse than death).

And you'd think that he'd find some sort of happy ending right?

Nope. At level 200 he realizes no one will ever remember him. He goes to see Mercedes who finally returns to Elluel, but she doesn't remember. He then receives his level 200 medal, the Forgotten Hero.

From what I saw in the tutorial, I'm guessing that Luminous may need something to spark the sealing process in which it may requires a life to do the deed and Eunwol takes one for the team. Which would mean those blue sparkles he shoots to the beacons is his life essence. It could be a side effect to the sealing or a last ditch effort made by the Black Mage.

Eun Wol said they needed Luminous's light magic after he offered to be the sacrifice. Freud also offered, but Eun declined it because of Freud's condition.

At least the retcon was done well. ┐(￣ー￣┌
