RED update thoughts and feedback
So I have to ask a few questions
1.) I know Grosso and Livyatan have seperate versions with MUCH higher hp, has anyone encountered said versions thus far? If so what trade route have you encountered them on (Its probably safe to assume they have much higher chances to drop the items)

2.) Whats the general consensus on the drop rate of the weaker ones anyway, somewhat rare, or in the middle? I've heard of people either getting them really often, or not getting them at all so im curious.

Edit: if what everyone has been saying about the boss not being affected by drop rate is true; that would be very interesting

Razmos Wrote:Why would the drops be tied to the tentacles hitbox though and not the actual boss itself? I'm more inclined to believe that Grosso Polpo does drop the items itself, but it has a different system of dropping compared to other bosses. (hence why we only get 1 item from it and some mesos).

The Pink Bean dummy in the middle of the map sometimes drops items when you kill a wave of statues at PB.

I did quests that I skipped from other regions for lols, so that prob slowed be down Tongue

Beta is too good. I used Beta from 100 because random teleporting = ew and I've just grown accustomed to her ever since.

Alhpa's mobility is ridiculous, though. Combo 2 -> Combo 3 is delicious. And I have no idea how to use Combo 4 lol.

Finished all of the quests up to Edelstein. Will is the epitome of a pomegranate. Mastermind my feces.

So is ranking up Lapis/Lazuli, although with quest booster I didn't have THAT much WP, around 60k or so, but come on, still rare?

And I still have to get my secondary Zero to 180 before it's quest booster expires too. And attendance. At least I'm on break :]

I liked to usually dash forward slash , then do his somersault combo which groups them up, then do the tornados. Usually kills everything. If i felt like it I' d use betas whirlwind because thats some insane grouping. Well seems market is flooded with equips in renegades. Apparently the exploit allows for infinite red coins so unlimited scrolls/cubes Frown

For Zero, does the "Change Potential" button essentially work the same as Cubes, where there's a chance it can upgrade from Rare tier to Epic -> Unique -> Legendary? If so, are the chances about the same as the cash shop cubes, or more like the free cubes you can find?

Man, it feels like Alpha does everything and I only bring out Beta to whack bosses.

People are saying it's pretty rare, indeed I did 20+ resets without my rank changing. It DID change today though when I did around 5 resets, from Epic to Unique.

Unique is the highest it will go though, you need to pay for Legendary or use Meister Cubes. which I suppose is fair enough.

I'd say it's a pretty low chance, lower than Red Cubes, though that should be obvious since they have the same function as Super Cubes which had a higher chance than normal Miracle Cubes. It is probably the same chance as the old miracle cubes.

Low chance but basically free. Only got to epic but it was good enough to hit 180 no problems.

woot!

Just figured out that having your pet auto-pot at ~90% of your HP makes you "lag" when attacking. So that's why I was so utterly destroyed by the kraken yesterday. -_-;

Managed to kill it 4 out of 6 times today with time to spare when using final form. Without it I was cutting it pretty close, but it's manageable. At last a boss that I can kill and it's worth doing. Awesome patch, that's all.

I went from Rare to Epic in about 2-4 resets.

I didn't go epic until i was 16x doing resets as many times as i could, and i went unique less than 3 resets after epic. No way to know but does it even matter? It's free so just keep at it.

Well the RED patch has been really fun, great introduction for me coming back to MapleStory after a year's hiatus.

Although the acronym suggested on BasilMarket for RED had me laughing:

Rollback
Exploitation
Duplication

Besides those 3 things, it was really nice tho.
Especially Commerci.
Gollux and Commerci have been the best content since years for me.

Yeah, there is no doubt that the Dawnveil region has been one of the best things added to the game. I remember people bitching about how it re-used Masteria assets, when it has added more to the game than Masteria ever did.

So much truth in this statement.

The truth in this is amazing.

Part of me wonders if there will be MORE to Dawnveil, seeing as theres still more of the continent shrouded in that mist.

Indeed, i'm thinking this too. When we saw the spooky and desolate Tyrenum, we never could have guessed that the next part of the continent, located RIGHT NEXT to it, would be basically a tropical paradise.

The "barriers" in Dawnveil blocking one area from the next could lead to a great variety of areas in the future. Maybe the next zone will be a desert, or a giant mountain region, or an underground city or something. From what we have seen so far, I'm actually quite excited for what might be next, from both a storyline and gameplay perspective.

Speaking of Commerci, does anyone else find it seriously strange that these people have supposedly never heard of Maple World, yet like 3 out 4 buildings in Commerci have a map of Maple World on the wall? and they already have trade routes set up with Maple World? hell, Mr. Do from Mu Lung is even part of one of the trade quests.

I don't think the problem was that it was simply re-using Masteria assets, the problem was that initially it was being set up as a replacement Masteria, they didn't change it to Dawnveil until after they released Crimsonheart Castle as Masteria, and they only changed to Dawnveil for us during the Gollux patch (most of the assets related to Dawnveil in the game are still referred to as Masteria, since hey, most people can't see it, why change it), while other versions kept it as Masteria, at least until the release of Commerci.

From quests so far, and I may have missed something, the next area will likely be Heaven Empire, and there's also the place Parbell is from in the far east.

I really would like to see more of Dawnveil too. I did not expect much of Tynerum and Commerci (I blame the terrible Masteria revamp last year) but after doing the quest lines I was absolutely blown away by how well done everything was.

That was in regards to the first version of Tynerum, when it was even called Masteria. It added nothing at all that we had not seen before.
The Gollux and Commerci expansions are obviously not bad. They can even rightly be called the best content released since the whole crap tradition of revamps and new characters started. I have seen nothing of the comparisons with the old brought up denying that. When the context is being considered the part about adding more is not really true though.
Gollux is really nice, though glitchy and wonky, and the Commerci trade system shows lots of promise. Personally, nothing has come close to how much fun I used to have Big Foot hunting though.
I also greatly enjoyed the crafting in Masteria whereas the Commerci and Dawnveil options are pretty shallow (not counting the wole transferable stat thing, which should have been released along with the pot system).

EDIT: Ninja'd. Did not realise I took so long typing it out. Monocle

Got to sail to Herb Town today. Need about triple the damage to deal with Leviathan (or whatever it's special name is). Fortunately if you don't clear it the voyage continues. Also I don't think Herb Town is the best for farming since I lost Denaros compared to gaining them like I do at Rosa (I lost ~20 :f6Smile. But I'll finagle with it some to see if it was me picking bad items to ship and whatnot.

You lose 20 Denaro the first time you go there, because you have to pay a one-time fee for the "license" to trade there.
