Should I be closing shops?
im going to expect... this like the old day white scroll and protection scroll and innocent scroll are all dupe ... and what did nexon did to those?

THEY MADE IT UNTRADEABLE AND MOVEABLE ONLY TO ACCOUNT

I believe to stop these duper they might and will make all unique pot and no boom aee become account movable from now on and mass delete anyone that has ton or ban them
and even possible nebulite become account xfer only

They could have gotten a lot of hackers by now if they had been doing that with every other exploit/hack too.

That won't do anything unless they make the items unable to be dropped or used. Just making the items be "Account moveable" only would just have the exploiters use all of their no booms / unique pots and crap and get away.

If only it were that simple.
Some hackers simply download tools and use them. Those ones are pretty easily filtered by IP bans.
The problem is the actual hackers: People who know what they are doing.
For them, it isn't that hard to run their IP through a couple different proxies, move to another location and use that IP, or even change their ISP. (Internet Service Provider). The only way to stop hacking is literally to stop hacking from being possible. The issue I see, as regular issues are a problem for nexon, that they either do not have the number of coders / testers, or the skills required to accomplish this, or they cannot afford them. Either way, I don't see hacking stopping any time soon.

In the end, it's up to the community to act responsibly and combat hackers to the best of their ability. Sadly though...most of the community is young, brash, and greedy. So that more than likely will not happen any time soon.

they didn't delete protection scroll and white scroll when it was mass dupe and gone for a long time.... and what they did is just made it account moveable only

Oh. Ow. Foo. Ah.

Yes it burns but it's almost like an annual event. I've gotten used to it. I'm only going to lose 4%(1dayRB)/15%(2dayRB)/25%(3day RB) on my lv211. It's not "much"... It's not.. Frown

Is it rollback season already?

This is a very good solution, even better than the solution Nexon is going to think up.

I'm guessing recovery measures are more cost effective than preventative measures at Nexon.

I think that's true more often than not in other industries. I know that the cost of dealing with all possible lawsuits in the auto industry in the case of manufacturer defects is significantly less than issuing recalls and whatnot, depending on the malfunction.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO PROGRAMMING

...Pardon me.
Programming is all about preventive measures. That is why there are supposed to be HUNDREDS of unit tests done on code to test for all extremities of input, and test environments (like test servers) to test real time changes. I really hope that isn't how they think.

From the look of the notice, they are not going to do a rollback...

Probably another 10 hours of usc will change their mind.

In my opinion, the best option would be to rollback until the hack became public, and then find out people who used it and eliminate them.

Well, it seems like they used the past 4 hours to mine their database and see who's involved. hopefully tracking the interactions isn't too hard...

Do you think a rollback would result in 4x as compensation, another 2x event while nice, just punishes players and has them do something they already did.

Ideally they rollback until 6 and then Hellban.

Actually, I don't think there will be a roll back at all.
If nexon thought it was best, they would have done it already.
Being down means they lose a lot of money. More up time is best.
There will probably be some hell banning, banning, item deletion, etc., but no roll back.
Even with a database of their size, a roll back is reasonably short.
