Should I be closing shops?

They have been checking storage for the past few exploits I think, the place they usually forget to check is the wedding gift storage (notoriously used by hackers since I don't even think Nexon knows it exists), and previously the MTS storage, which I am fairly certain is a large part of the reason the MTS was closed. =/

I'm feeling fairly confident about the outcome of this one though, they have a lot of people to win over since people have started playing again with RED.

And check all accounts linked to the main culprit.

How long has this even been public? not even 24hours? A rollback shouldn't be so bad just give us some 2x/maple points compensation and all should be fine. Rolleyes

I hope they thoroughly check wedding storages, since we can have 'free' weddings right now, it's easier to take advantage of that.

Welp I missed the chaos because I was sleeping/was at work.

Aww... I really do hope there's a rollback though, the economy is going to be pomegranate in Bello and I still have to complete my Staff Sad

Condolences to all the people who had legitimate items duped and their prices crashed to 1 meso.

I have so many thing to lose if they do RB ._. My attendances, I trained a lot my FP, got many nice items and so on... maplepoints and 2x will not compensate this for me..... I rather be hellbanned for 2 weeks..

Like previously stated on this topic, they CAN resolve this without resorting to rollbacks but it'd demand a huge amount of effort and time and thus it's probably not going to happen because of those requirements.

You do know all the ramifications of getting hellbanned...

A rollback and maple points aren't going to fix the dupe. Or make up for time lost training this weekend, or items upgraded by chance. Or fix the economy.

And just because it was made public less than 24 hours ago doesn't mean it wasn't already abused to great effect before that time.

Rollback is needed since they obviously aren't going to solve all the crap that happened with whatever they do. Might need to do other stuff in addition to that of course.

Personally, I simply don't see them doing a rollback. Do remember they don't like doing them if they have other options. It would especially screw over everyone from these last few days with events and such, most notably the 2x events, hot time, etc.

If one does happen though, i'll be QUITE annoyed seeing as I just got my ghost ship badge to 15% strength.

There's a difference between your suggestion of a rollback and maple points, and actually fixing the problem (which the rollback would also be a part of). The maple points are a placebo; it makes the users feel a little bit happy while doing nothing to repair the damage.

Usually they just hellban everyone who was in FM
Well everyone except the hackers. And the items they made always seem to remain intact.

Nexon doesn't know how to address this stuff so a rollback is the only thing that will work.

think they're going to rollback to when it went public..then try to delete the items duped before that

i wonder myself though, what prevents a "specific" rollback? i mean like leave exp as-is but rollback inventories and storages.

of course, anyone that has scrolled, used NX etc etc etc would create a mess. cubes lost, or free exp from sengoku runs kept... man this thing is annoying to use huh?

losing time spent to do things is why rolllbacks are last resort

Someone could move this to general discussion by now. I doubt it's a question anymore.

Because what we call a "rollback" isn't actually reversing the flow of the game and undoing transactions one by one. It's a simple restore from savepoint. Everything in the database is restored. That is the only way to make sure the database remains consistent. (Except for NX, which is a separate database, and connected to real-world money, so it needs special handling)

yea, but just asking for knowledge, wouldn't one be able to restore just parts of the database?
