When the December 7 Hot Time event boxes were able to be opened, a safety feature was included with them. If too many people were trying to claim the rewards at once, after a few seconds, when the reward queue was confirmed to be full, a message from would appear asking you to please try again later. However, there have been some reports of the message not appearing when the box was opened, resulting in the Hot Time box disappearing. We will be looking into this issue over the weekend.

Okay that's fine. Getting mad over not receiving free stuff is bad taste anyway.

Hope they can resolve this ;x

At first I had thought that mine had disappeared, but I waited it out and eventually things started appearing in my inventory.
I had 2/3rds of the items and then I was given a message telling me to try again later, and given the box back. Double-clicked the box and got my 3rd item, so all was well~

But yeah, hopefully people who's boxes really did glitch on them will get sorted out, cause that's always a shame.

Lucky Nexon! They've got all kinds of data from this.
Looks like their reward protection system didn't flawlessly hold up to the stress test. Hopefully they will be able to determine what went wrong.

Not liking this, sounds like a method to try and reincorporate hot times.

Now, once every while's ok

This. The last thing I want (or Nexon should want) is there entire player base on at once lagging everything to hell in a hand basket. As usual, I wasn't able to even get on due to technical issues. I hope to hell they don't try to re-implement this nonsense.

I don't know what you're getting at. How does it sound that way, and even if it was, why would it be bad?
Try to think of why Hot Time events happen in the first place. The primary purpose isn't to hand out goodies; if that were the case they'd just have them available for pickup over an extended period of time instead of having tens of thousands of people all logged in at the same time.

If the goods aren't reliably delivered, you're not going to get as many (since Hot Time is almost always with a 2x) people on.

I also thought they'd learned their lesson in the past regarding having 2x exp and drop events during a hot time/miracle time. I'd hate to think they are starting to slip after improving so much in this regard.

Did you guys see the [WAITING INTENSIFIES] notice in-game tho?
It was pretty hilarious Rolleyes
OT:
I had to open the box like 20 times, but eventually it worked.

Yes, but with this one, if it was a Hot Day, people with tons of mules would obtain several hundred/thousand dollars worth of Cubes/Gacha/Style Boxes.

My girlfriend and I have 14 accounts between us just from friends and family quitting and giving us the accounts.

Limiting it to 1 per 1 IP address wouldn't be that hard to do. I suppose people could drive around to coffee shops all day and still exploit it, but it would have the same practical affect.

Hot Days were put in place to incentivize people to play.
RED is serving as that incentive right now. There's no need for hot days.

You'd have thought that they'd learned their lesson by now, considering that this happens nearly every single time they host this sort of event. Hell, Scania's channels were all over flowing with people and I was lagging EVERYWHERE. They should seriously consider excluding newly created accounts from signing into Scania and other highly populated worlds.

By your logic there shouldn't be 2x or Hot Times either since those are there to incentivize people to play as well.

Except that they now always include hot days with large content updates. We even have "cold days" during RED.

If you read the Update Notes and Event Notes you'd see that there are already three Hot (Cool) Days planned for December, and probably some in the works for January. The reason why yesterday was a Hot Time is because the rewards were way too good to allow people to get them on many characters; I doubt they're planning to switch back to Hot Times generally, since that causes problems for both players and Nexon.
