I'm wondering why they decided to switch back to the Hot Time system, I like the Hot Day system since I could login whenever I pleased.
They want to break record the concurrent user count (it was 140k for GMS I believe)?

Due to the fact that certain valuable items (RED tickets) were easily abusable with Hot Days. Things that were meant to be rare became an abundant commodity and flooded the market.

If I leave maple open and come back, lets say, 5 hours later, would I still be bale to get the box and open it?

it's this only one however, if i had to guess, it's because they're giving cash shop stuff

They don't want those people who have a thousand accounts to get infinite cube/perm nx/gach tix.

If it's like the old hot times, you just have to be logged in during the window. You can then get the gifts anytime that day from maple admin or cassandra (iirc).

Everything in that Hot Time is pretty much their top sellers, I doubt they would want to give THAT many for free.

Judging from past post-hot time experiences, the server is going to be pretty messed up for the next few days.

I used to do it at rina's place in henesys.

You don't really have to be in a town. Any normal map will do, including maps with monsters.
Maps that might be problematic are anything instanced and/or timed, boss maps, PQs, Evo World, Dimension Invade, boats, FM, Event Hall... Anywhere you can't Hyper Tele Rock to.

Personally I prefer to be in small empty maps such as the shops or houses in towns, ToT rest areas, etc. Towns are crowded, laggy, and susceptible to griefers map crashing everyone.

Really hope they're not making all hot days hot times again.
