No.

fodjgngf Wrote:Yeah wasn't it like every single charge upgrade gave total damage?

Not sure, but DrKs have a lot of base total damage also since chains gives 100%, but DrKs are still more powerful.

Each charge gives 8 attack and 2% damage, in addition to other stats. Also, change your sig. It creeps me the pineapple out, man.

No buts!

Guys, I never noticed this before, but Flame Haze causes a monster to not be able to deal touch damage. Sounds nifty! However, does it have any practical applications? Who deals a threatening amount of touch damage, anyways?

Lightning Edge or whatever it's called (Mercedes 4th job skill) does that too, pretty useful at Empress.

I would prefer to take touch damage over magic damage in most cases, but I have so much HP/MP that it doesn't even matter.

ok, joetang's numbers go like this:

fastest 2, hypers, blast spam, no SE, full HP DrK
pally/DRK
boss/PDR
0/0 = 13507 - 22136
0/100= 8852 - 12997
100/0= 19604 - 29033
100/100= 12830 - 16814

i think this doesn't include DrK's 50% buff duration for infinite gungnir however. but...

pallies lose 35% of their damage to a 100% boss increase, DrK's lose 41.3%
pallies win 45% damage from 100% boss, DrK win 31%

so pallies gain more from both PDR and boss damage, this is noted in the 100/100 where pallies lose less than 1k %/s, while DrK's lose a bit past 3k %/s

these numbers are without void elemental, which would ignore physical resist, and thus would (give or take) double the paladin's damage output

--
ok, found the DrK numbers with 60 sec sacrifice:
25423
16859
32733
21604

so a loss of 33.7 due to pdr (barely more damage than a pally), and an increase of 28% from boss damage (so it's even worse than before)

doubling the pally's numbers gets us very close to the DrK (surpassing it at some points, so adding more boss% on the paladin would make it stronger than a DrK

I can't tell if DrKs are too weak and need buffs or if pallys are too strong and need nerfs.

I say buff the DrKs just because I can't find a way to nerf pallys that is actually justified. Element nulfication is one of the only reasons paladins can actualy compete with its warrior brothers but it is a tad OP if you really think about it.

I blame boss mechanics more than anything else.

i don't mind it much really, if you notice, doubling the pally's boss damage at 100/100, leaves it with just over 2k% second more (than neverending gungnir), that's not a whole lot (compare to heroes having like 15k more before or stuff like that)

if i had to choose i'd pick a nerf for pallies though, such good damage witht he ability to not die makes me a wee bit envious Rolleyes heroes are also below both iirc (but heroes have been assholes for too long, let they QQ i say... except they can turn into pally/dark knights, why nexon why!?)

Yeah seriously, pallys are almost equal to the other two before you factor in elemental reset.

Maybe if they lowered it to 50% or lower instead of 100%, so it's a 1.5x increase instead of 2x?

I don't think heros are in a bad spot at all actually since they're the only warrior that don't have restrictions on their damage. Pallys have to buff for EVER and DrKs have to die (not sure how infinite gungnir works out though, but i'm sure they still have to die at some point) in order to reach the %/s where they're all even.

Totally unrelated to the DK/Paladin discussion, but I was just looking on the MapleStory website and found the Dev Blog section.. been a year and a half since they posted one of those. Kinda wish they'd bring it back, would've been nice to have a Dev Blog for the RED patch (and Unleashed too, I'd have liked to read the developers insight into things like the boss buffs/why we didn't get everything KMS got, etc)

http://maplestory.nexon.net/community/ma...s/dev-blog

Should've mentioned it to Girasol/Aurtax while we had them, but I didn't think of it then.

In pallies defense: Anyone can now get 10% elemental ignore from one of the traits Iirc. So, technically paladin only has a 1.9 adventage at bosses. Also, the Damage loss to PDR is actually better for Drk/Heroes, because they have higher % to start with, so a 30% defense ignore would boost the Hero/Drk's damage more than it would for a Paladin. And if you don't like skills that work like Elemental void, wait for 5th job and cygnus knights, I'm pretty sure they'll get 100% elemental ignore too.

Well, everyone talking about their % and damage and Aran looking there useless and gender confused... And Zero laughing like a hyena...

Unless it was changed afterwards, Insight allows 0.5% per 10 levels, so a total of 5% elemental resistance ignore.

you don't. dying grants you infinite gungnir for 30 seconds
sacrifice grants you infinite gungnir for 40 seconds, with a 60 sec CD, by sacrificing beholder (which pretty much just gives you a 2-min long attack buff at this point)
so sacrifice+50% buff duration means infinite gungnirs with no setbacks
