Upcoming Winter Update
Dark Link Wrote:OF COURSE the Cash Item Share would be temporary. It wouldn't be Nexon without something like that.

It actually might not be that bad if they reopen the feature a few times a year.

But yeah, what the f'uck?

Chicocl Wrote:I don't know why people are disappointed by this update already.

At least from my perspective, all they're doing is sugar-coating problems in the game, but not actually fixing said problems.

Using examples from Max's blog:

Quote:Miracle Cubes and other Cash Shop enhancing items will be more easily attainable in-game.

This is a step in the right direction, but unless the drop rate is decent / moderate, it won't fix the P2W problem.

Quote:It has been determined that the current upgrading system is very complicated and difficult for users. One change is that there will be less chance of your item being destroyed when failing a scroll.

Why is the "Boom" mechanic even still a thing in the game to begin with?

Quote:In addition, the many different types of scrolls will be condensed into a smaller amount. I think this means that they’re making more ‘general’ scrolls instead of specific ones.

The problem is they've been doing this for years with the anniversary scrolls. "Scroll for One-Handed Weapon", "Scroll for Two-Handed Weapon", "Scroll for Armor". Only positive is instead of having these types of scrolls be event limited, they'll be around all the time.

Quote:Cash item share. It’s temporary sharing of Cash items between characters in your account.

It's already been mentioned that players have been wanting to share their CS stuff with other classes on their account, but instead of going the way JMS did and just unifying all inventories into one, they're adding a system to "temporary" share said CS stuff with other classes.

Maybe I'm just grumpy or I expected too much from Nexon. They want the game to be "Super less P2W" and the changes they're proposing doesn't seem to aim in that direction and instead only slightly reduce the gap once again, or accidentally widen it even more.
Obviously it's only my first impressions so things can / may change as we get more information.

All I want is cheaper cubes and all untradable gear to be account transfer-able...

You jinxed it. Nice job.
Just because they didn't mention them yet doesn't mean they won't happen .-.

Retconning in a 6th hero? Wow...

What is consistency?

It is stated that all memory and evidence of the existence of the 6th hero was eradicated. It actually seems less icky this way. They didn't just stick a new one in.

Your problem is that you expect them to do it in one update. They had good strides in RED, and those strides are being elevated to be much more generous to people. Did you expect mileage to go from 30% to 100%? I didn't. If they overdid such changes instead of a gradual transition then it would be terrible on their end and we can't curse them for not wanting that.

Just because it isn't "super less p2w" now doesn't mean it won't end up that way.

WOOT! This has been my argument all along for fixing the party zone 'problem'.

Just to add some other commentary, the 'level-up system' mention in Max's blog is probably a KMS update to the existing Tot's Know-How. Last I knew, KMS did not have Tot, so GMS was probably the test run for it. I, personally, really like Tot's Kow-How, so to see updated to go up to level 100 would be pretty cool.

Like Foolyz said. Think of what Josef Stalin did to people who opposed him.

It depends on whether this new job actually contributes heavily to the story though, if it's just a self-contained story about this forgotten hero, and doesn't add anything to the lore, then it's shoehorned.

That's true. I guess it's cause the Dec 19th update was "labeled" as the "Super less P2W" update.
The Mileage update did surprise me greatly. Although I can't help, but have my doubts NexonNA will mess with the system in some way for the worse.

I can't imagine them doing another hero without it heavily impacting the story. I mean, just look at the photos of all 6 heroes together. They were a large part of each other's lives at one point, until Eunwol was basically deleted from history.

indeed.
Although sadly they decreased the amount of mileage you get from bosses. It went from about 120-200 to 50 mileage per boss.
Mileage quest can only have 10 quests done a day, so that gives you 500 mileage per day if you fight all bosses.
But still, with 100% mileage, thats wayyyy better than nothing. I finally get to cube without going through the struggle anymore.

Was it? We've only gotten snippets so far though, and some of the things they mention sound very promising and if it doesn't turn out that way it can still go the way of mileage and they'll tweak it to be even less p2w. Mileage alone is a pretty big deal. I probably wouldn't bother spending mileage in america just because we know it'll be 100% later though haha.

There are still other ways of getting it though, and they're adding more on top of that. I don't really understand how it works in the first place though.

Basically, stock up on mileage while it's 30% and just sit on it lol.

Well, it's true.
OT: Party bonus for all mobs, huh? That should be interesting.

My pessimism is showing through...

inb4 GMS doesn't get 100% mileage. ahhhhhhh

I hope GMS gets mileage, period. No mention of it so far, I think.

Did you know that mileage has a certain expiration date?

They expire at the end of a certain month
Example: if you get mileage in september, it should be scheduled to expire at the end of october.

Not all of your mileage though, just only the mileage that you got on that month.

Actually, inb4 GMS doesn't get mileage at all. ;-;

(it wasn't mentioned in the articles already released about GMS RED i don't think...)

That's hardly important. Just start farming on the month before the expected release.
