Im in JMS, where there is the maker skill. I did the quest, but its not in my skill menu.

Did he give you a skill book you have to "use" to learn the skill, perhaps?

wait, nm, i see what's wrong. Isaac only covered the first bit of what you do to get Maker.
you have to go the president of Jenumist to get the skill still.

Then I believe you have to answer a series of three questions who's answers have already been supplied by cody, hughes and the Jenumist.

Talk to Stan, Carson, and Hughes to get Maker lv 1. Its that simple..

You need two lv 71-80 Monster Crystals for Maker lv 2.

Yeah, I had to go get this on my windreaver the other day and was confused as to who to talk to as well. I meant to add Carson then but I forgot. :x Added now though.

Another thing I just thought of. Since I know I won't have the ingredients to make my items right when this comes out, I'm gonna try and sell off my Wisdom and Monster Crystals in the FM ASAP.

So the question is:

For making the Monster Crystals, does it matter what level of the skill you have in respect to the level of the monster drop? For example, is it possible to turn lvl 111-120 drops into Monster Crystals with the lvl 1 skill?

As I understand it:

Level 1 can only make the three low grade crystals
Level 2 adds the ability to make the three mid grade crystals
Level 3 adds the ability to make the three high grade crystals

Sometimes a crystal will jump a grade though, so even level 1 can occassionally spew out a level 2 crystal if you were going for a high level 1 and it upgrades to a low level 2.

Yeah, this seems to be the case for me too. I get a crystal that's a grade higher than it's supposed to be about 10% of the time.

Hmm, I guess if I want 30 mid grade As I should plan for ~3500 etc. >_> (10pants+10top+10shoes, plus weapons are 30 each).

I have a question for you guys, which ore do you think will be worth the most?

I'm planning to stuck up on Black crystals Diamonds Topaz ores and maybe garnets?

The other crystals are much more rare and won't be worth stucking up IMO

Ores will be pretty worthless once the SW/elinia JQ botters release the ten of thousands they have stocked up, I wouldnt buy any the way the current state of play is.

Actually you can't JQ for the stat ores - Wisdom, Luck, Dex, Power & Dark.
Those will be the ones worth the most anyway.

If they weren't achievable through botting, Diamond, Sapphire and the Black crystals would be the highest value.

Even after the botting, it's the graded crystals, particularly high ones, that will have the most value, not the plain ordinary ones.

Also - most of those botters arent stocking up - They're NPCing them in the Sauna.

Diamonds are only useable on a weapon, and you can only craft average weapons +3 attack with a perfect diamond, you can find a better weapon off a monster ...

Think of it, what's the average attack of a scarab, 34/35 right?,37/38 scarabs aren't worth much anyway :f6:

The diamonds MIGHT be useful for the level 120/110 weapons, since those aren't in a huge supply, but other than that they would be pretty useless...

We're actually unclear on the truth of that - According to the JMS sites Black & Dark crystals both only randomize str/dex/luk/int just on different scales.

Haven't found any reliable sources that indicate anything other than a diamond and sapphire can raise wattack or mattack.

After Aesilyn's post, I'm a bit skeptical about using black/dark crystals, due to the same issues as with using a stimulator. While they have a chance of adding quite a bit of useful stats, the -5 possibility of a high grade dark crystal is quite daunting...

Looks at the 1.2k Diamonds in his Inv. o.O;;; I should hope diamonds will still be in ample Demand mostly thinking about high lvl wpns and claws for sins since they enjoy tryin to make godly claws for the wpn atk whores that they are <3
