Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
ChronosXIII Wrote:I would bet on a strong likelihood Chrom will make an appearance just due to the fact that Awakening sales were spectacular in Japan and abroad.

Roy and Ike are just past their primes now. Excellent

Ike's descendent was in Awakening, so maybe not.

Fire emblem deserves 3 reps far more than Star Fox ever did,so I'd say there's a good chance. >_>

I had a brief moment of "Holy pomegranate Dragonball Z" before remembering these were in the other games too haha.

To be fair - Dragon Ball existed way before the first Smash came out.

Secret bulma cameo pls nintendo..

iirc the cost for a DBZ license is really high. No way nintendo would go through all that trouble for a cameo appearance.

Besides, if they wanted to incorporate a DBZ reference, they should've done it back in the first game, when DBZ was more relevant. Here, I don't see the point in trying to shoehorn in an overdue cameo from a dated anime.

What made 64 more relevant to dbz than melee/brawl?

Wasn't Dragonball Z at the top of it's hype back then? I remember watching it as a kid and playing Nintendo 64 at around the same time.

Probably. The money that went into 64 was paltry compared to melee though, since they didn't expect it to be one of their highest grossing franchises ever. I highly doubt they would have been able to cover the cost of the license whether they wanted a playable character or just an item.

Eh, I didn't have any facts, just thinking about my own childhood memories, it's not a surprise that some of it would be mixed up..

Tipper confirmed.

Sakurai Wrote:Pic of the day. The Villager's bug catching net that was shown in the movie is actually a grapple move. It is sort of like Link's Clawshot and Samus's Grapple Beam.

Wow i wonder how that works. Is it a command grab if it's used in the air? (Wario bite, bowser claw) There's no way it grabs the edge like normal chains do but i don't get the point of it if it's just a different looking grab aside from extra range. If it's a command grab though it makes perfect sense because that's one more ability that adds to his already incredible anti-camp model.
