If only it didn't already have... 130? base speed. That ability is almost completely useless compared to being able to freely switch on when you have a thunder bait while healing your jolteon.

It be great for venge killing mega's, it have almost 200 speed if it was sent in on toxic spikes.

choice specs + quick feet jolteon to guarantee a revenge kill perhaps?

Still seems a bit too reliant on the right situation (i.e. toxic spikes on your field) but it will definitely catch people off guard.

How well do you think flame orb Jolteon with electroball would do?

flame orb quick feet jolteon with max speed EV/IV/nature hits 591 speed
enemies above 290 speed get hit for 60BP (useless)
enemies between 195 and 290 get hit for 80BP (just use Tbolt instead for 90BP)
enemies between 147 and 195 get hit for 120BP (same power as thunder... in gen V.. thunder is now 110BP)
enemies with less than 147 speed get hit for 150 BP.

And this is only with maximum investments in speed. Gets worse if you went for sp.att. nature.


Quite honestly... it's just not worth it. The ONLY time that it's useful will be when you paralyze things because then their speed will get cut massively allowing for 150BP electroballs easily, no investments needed. If you dont paralyze things though, dont bother.

Sorry to give you bad news, but I don't think Jolteon can learn Electro ball, unless there's like a hidden move tutor I don't know about. Its move pool is just as shallow as before.

With this generation, I don't want to rely on thunder wave because it seems less practical with electric and ground types being immune to it as well as many other things that has little to no effect, or has simple ways of curing it.

Daaang, Palpitoad must be really rare.
