MountLag; There's no animation long enough for a MM (or many other classes) to get down kill both summons and get back up in time.
I still haven't done it successfully on my WA. My best idea would be having someone on each side to jump down, kill 1, and jump back up. Using the portal to go center just takes too long.

You jump down kill 1, then kill the other and move to portal when he does the grabbing thing or something.

Ah, so you're killing torso and 1 shoulder? I don't think I've tried that.

High mobility classes (mainly teleport) are only ways to solo hard effectively if you don't have a lot of damage and trying for minimal death. You can just facetank the curse and use up your deaths after jaw though if you don't care. After teleport classes, I would say xenon is next easiest for hard mode solo's.

Despite being well equipped, I solo-ed hard mode Gollux as a Mercedes without a death. Probably had a counter of 2 or 3 on my head by the time I killed it.
Jaw - Just stand in the centre sway right and left, making sure you're always on the opposite side of the direction he's looking at.
Eyes - Since you're at the centre when you kill it, just use the portal and DJ to the edge of the platform and shoot from afar.
Forehead - I don't remember much... I think it was just sit and shoot.
Personally I didn't find it very difficult... and would classify Normal Magnus to be harder :|(especially with the new/change(?) to the green 1hko skill).

This is same strategy I use on hell mode but with beam dance. If you can move and attack, then you can use this strategy.
On hard however, I can snipe from the side due to hypogram field keeping the curse mobs at bay.

It's been several days now, and I skimmed the thread somewhat, but I still have a question.
We know that difficulty clear 4 = 150 items [or we hypothesize to the best of our knowledge].
What would be the difficulty for 140 items? Me and a friend have been duoing hard mode for 140 items, but so far we have gotten a lot more solids and some cracked pieces.
Two clear difficulties appear for us. One person sees only one clear difficulty. The other person sees two clear difficulties. Usually the person who only sees one clear difficulty sees clear difficulty 5, while the other sees clear difficulty 5 and clear difficulty 3. We usually let the person who saw clear difficulty 5 click the heart.
For 140 items on hard mode, should we be letting the person who see clear difficulty 5 click the heart or the clear difficluty 3? Or does it not matter?

Out of curiosity, is there a specific reason (other than for convenience, possibly) why you choose to use Beam Dance in Hell mode, but Snipe in Hard mode? The boss mechanics should generally be the same for every mode, right? I'm thinking for Hell mode you have another partner to clear the curse mobs, but idk I just find using Snipe the entire time a whole a lot better. Time isn't too critical for the jaw part, so I guess it's just preference.

Minimum clear difficulty for 140 items should be 3? Drop rates seem to be quite erratic for any mode, you're not always guaranteed to get the highest level item, or any item at all.
I believe it was hypothesized earlier that each time one leaves the map, the clear difficulty is lowered by one for that person. I can corroborate this theory for Hard mode.
But I'm a bit unsure how you and your friend are getting clear difficulty 5 for Hard mode, I thought that was for Hell mode only?
Seeing how the drops are quite random, there's no definitive way to test that last part, but it would be safer to have the person with the highest clear difficulty click on the chest.
Edit: Okay, well that's interesting.. v

Haven't tried it in a while, but whenever I used snipe on hell mode, the hand would rape me. Yes I could dodge it but I felt that setting up field and watching out for hand was less dps than beam dancing in the middle
@Above: L>some proof.
Edit: Friend just told me there's 2 150 belts in bellocan FM. I'm inclined to believe the 150 drops then can be found on other modes as I don't believe hell in bello could be completed if cami/me were not there.

Pretty sure those aren't legit. Someone offered a friend the full 150 set for something.

Just saw someone in Scania smega (not item-smega) claiming to sell a 150 pendant, which also inclines me to believe that 150 items may come from other modes at a very low rate. As far as I know, there should be nobody else in Scania asides from my crew that can complete Hell mode at the moment.
I figured it would be hacker-proof for a while though, given that the jewel has an insane amount of hp. =/

Uh, if hackers can get faster dojo times than everyone else that hits cap, pretty sure they can manage hell mode gollux. Especially in pairs.

Someone selling the lvl150 belt basically told my friend that hackers have figured out how to kill gollux (implying hell mode?). This was sometime last week.

at this point I'd be surprised if at this time they hadn't done so.

Is this guy a permanent addition? Or is he somehow related to the Halloween events?

Should be permanent, since it's the first patch of the "new continent".

Well I thought alien pq would only be a part of unleashed events, but its still here...I say 50/50.

AlienPQ was obviously a permanent addition. Nothing in the update notes or nothing hinted anywhere about it being a temp event PQ. The only reason why anyone would think it wouldn't be a permanent addition would be because of the Visitor event in the past, even though AlienPQ hardly had anything in common with the Visitor event.
