I keep meaning to get Eurogamer Expo tickets but they're always sold out when I finally do remember (over a month in advance, generally).

When my buddy got my PAX Prime 2013 tickets, they were sold out within 3 hours, and that was when pre-orders opened a good few months in advance.

So yeah, getting them as soon as possible is a very good idea, if you want to get in at all (or deal with scalpers, as previously mentioned).

Aaaahhhh you're going to love it! PAX Prime was my very first PAX and I did not want to leave. Too many amazing panels. Had I known you wanted to go, I would have offered you one of our extra passes. ;_;
