Can't get over the thought of naruto having a pokemon battle.

It adds another layer to serious battling: do you go for higher stats, different typing and ability or do you get to use an item (and a different Mega Pokemon, since you can only use one on your team at a time)? Some Pokemon lose more than just an item when Mega Evolving.

That's a really good point, but being still as relative as using any kind of item but with the inherent meaning of an "upgraded mode", I still think it was created more as fan service than actual competitive variety. I understand my view is pretty biased and that matter shouldn't bother me... but it does.

A permanent evolution which raises stats even higher would make them more powerful all around without losing anything. For Pokemon like Garchomp, that is overkill.

My bad on not clarifying... I was not thinking on fully evolved and powerful Pokémon when mentioning traditional evolution and balance at all, but on the unpopular and low stats Pokémon.

Legendaries are overrated. All Pokemon can be great. I'm glad they at least tried to dig deeper with MegaKangaskhan (and we still don't have the full Mega Evolution list). Although I agree that mostly mainstream Pokemon have been getting it.

You're right. It's just that since legendaries are supossed to be overrated and so wanted, I feel the alternate form suits them better. I'm also glad they've tweaked the less fortunate, but I'm of the idea that they should've given all Pokémon the same treatment since they're claiming introducing the system for balance.

The official site has updated and given details on how to receive event Pokémon. This process runs similar to previous games with you selecting Mystery Gift and then selecting the appropriate option. However, the details have provided a new method of obtaining event Pokémon. In addition to Local Wireless, Nintendo Network Download and InfraRed, the game also lists a new method of downloading: Serial Codes. Presumably this will run akin to the Serial Codes on the Global Link within Generation V. You can also have up to 24 Wonder Cards before having to make room for a new event.

That's interesting, though I bet it would just be for promotional things like getting a free rare pokemon code when you buy some merchandise or something.

Events are also locked to the console & game's region, rather than the game's language so if you're playing a Japanese game in English, you will only receive Japanese events but Japanese games in English cannot receive North American events and vice versa. As a reminder, the Torchic event will be live online for all regions from October 12th to January 15th.

It has been announced that the storage app, Pokémon Bank, is due for release in North America on December 27th. With it comes a 30 day free pass if you download and play the application before February 1st. From then on, if you wish to use the services, including Poke Transporter, you will need to pay a yearly fee of $4.99. It also confirms that you cannot have items on your Pokémon when you send it to Bank, with the items returning to your bag.

Disappointed to hear the AI opponents are still incompetent. :/ Gets old having every single Pokemon game be so loleasy that you can do them all with a single Pokemon, not including HM-slaves.

Looks like the post game will be very limited... I'm more and more pushed to wait for pokemon Z or a sequel...

To see if a GameStop near you is doing a midnight launch. Closest one for me is 75 miles away... At least there's a Walmart nearby where I can pick them up at midnight.

I'm probably going to have to wait a day or two before I can pick it up, ha ha. My bus route doesn't run on the weekends, so I'm going to call GameStop and ask them if they can hold my copy until Monday

Darn, the gamestop literally 5 minutes away from me is not doing a midnight release :F4: I guess I will wait till 10 am, not going to drive an extra 40min-1h.

Work out of town sat-monday so I can't pick up my preorder unless I have it transferred to another gamestop closer to my job and pick it up saturday after work, I dont think I'll be able to transfer to a dif one for the friday/night release because I have to wake 4 am for work. Either that or wait til monday.
