I've saw Hacton and I'm looking at that Gullox and i dont see the reskin, who knows maybe its another 1vs100 boss!

Okay wait, I like how we're getting more content even if it's reskinned but what makes me wonder is how are they going to fit that into the Masteria storyline? (Or they could always create new ones and create confusion)

For some weeks now Nexon has been asking the comunity of ways to help maplestory improve, yet the most clear answer, that which was as easy as a shoot to the ground, that would be updating to masteria, they come and screw it up like this. Seriously Nexon? Another reskin to pass for exclusive content? how did you not learn your lesson from Jett?

Am I the only one that'd preffer they leave masteria alone before they keep screwing it up with reused pomegranate?

I mean, it's better than nothing. I assume this is the content Girasol was hinting when she was still around. I'm pretty sure even if it looks not appealing, there will be some people that would still fight this.

It looks like the parts of his body are put in separate maps too. If you notice the name of the map is Gollux's Head, and the area you're in is highlighted in the map.
I like how it fits the crimsonwood mountain theme.

OT: I am vaguely interested in this. Even if its just a reskin of Hekaton at least they tried :l

I hope it doesn't conflict with the introduction of the actual Hekaton though.

I see this glorious, amazingly drawn 100v1 boss and think "Holy pomegranate that looks amazing"
and you people are complaining it's a Hekaton reskin? first off you have no way of knowing that whatsover.

Be grateful we are getting anything at all. I'm sick of people peach about how much they want a Masteria "expansion" and then viciously slam anything Nexon tries to give.

I hope it's difficult and has good drops. I'm guessing this will be our next patch then, probably on the 16th since that's when all the events end. Patch highlights either up later today or next Friday, hopefully today xD

How the hell would you even know that it's a complete reskin? Don't jump the gun, because the fact that there's a death count changes the game a lot on this. Yeah, it's possible it's a reskin, but just wait for more details. I'm more curious about the actual mechanics involved with the fight and the drops.

The chance of it being a reskin is like 80% with it being of the same size and the same type of body of Hekaton. What makes me mad is that it shouldn't be hard at all to come up with a new boss...



At first I thought this was a salamander-like stone dragon, with those branches behind the head standing like its neck and body. I was like "doesn't look good but ITS MOTHERpineappleING IGNEEL". But no, even though a cool design was right on their faces they (most likely) will gives us a reskin again as fake exclusive content.

Why can't it just be a slight copy paste? GMS saw the idea for Hecton and decided to throw something together and put it in Masteria somehow but at the end of the day we still end up getting Kritias/Hecton and end up with two massive bosses sharing a theme.



Anyway, on another note. Was Carbock ever explained?

I'm guessing it'll be a 'replacement', I wouldn't mind at all if that is the case but if it isn't and this is something separate then that'd be awesome too. I just want more stuff to do in-game really. The whole 'Masteria under attack' theme could work with Kritias since Kritias is under attack by the Black Mage (I think? right?) too, but I guess we'll find out in the next week/2 weeks.

Just what I thought of it, I'll gladly be proven wrong!

I think this isn't a reskin at all, now that I watch it carefully.

Paired with the fact the map name is the "head", I'd say it's a multimap boss. We don't have any of those yet, I think, but if I had to bet, it'd be a 30-36 (if that's possible) people expedition, filling all the gaps in the expedition window, and splitting all 6 of the parties in each part, the purple painted gaps in the minimap.

Basically, because if you notice closely, the floor of the head map is flat, on what it seems like the ribs, and the camera doesn't pan lower.

I'm betting for a new content even if inspired by Hekaton, but new.

Knowing Nexon, it could well be an alien tree, or the results of aline experiments. Seeing how aliens did take over NLC, experimenting on local organisms is not that far of a stretch.

Nexon doesn't know how to do "subtle" alien. does that look alien to you? it looks ancient.

It could be interesting but I'm hesitant to get excited or interested with anything that has Masteria in its name. It's too early to tell really. As long as it's another boss I am able to fight without having to have perfectly cubed/scrolled gear then that's enough for me really.

It would be great if they released some new training areas for chars above lvl 200 too. A new boss is great and all (assuming it poses a bit of a challenge) but I think Ancient Golems has been worn out lol.

It won't. The storyline for Kritias is that the Black Mage is back, and he's launching his attack. Way too important to the storyline to fiddle around with.

Not to mention Kritias is more than just Hekaton, there's also the General invasions and such.
