Everyone that got the special edition 3DS XL makes me want to buy one even more >.<

ALso, i dont think this was asked yet, but do you make your character the same gender as you? I have always in the previous games, but it looks like girls get much better customization choices.

Yes I do. I have always made my characters the same gender as me since I first started playing Pokémon, and that won't change anytime soon.

Since I'm getting both X and Y this time, I'm probably gonna make both. But I've usually stuck to male trainers.

Yup. I've always been a female trainer, aside from gen1 for obvious reasons.
Except now I might be able to make my trainer look like my actual trainer-OC 8D;;

Gen1 and Gen2 I was male (obvious reasons). From there I've been both. I think I've played the games slightly longer if I play as the female though. At least I did in Gen3 and Gen4. My Pokemon Sapphire still has my female save file that had like most Pokes available at level 100 from my manual powerleveling.

I think I'll be playing the male in XY since his default appearance is above average and you get to customize them anyways.

Yup, I always go male... I name the MC after a character I've written up for various Pokemon projects- Sanjo Mosaki (or just Sanjo, since that's all that'd fit). He's male... hence I always chose to create the male avatar.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to utilizing the outfit options that'll be open to us. That's one of the only things I actually enjoyed in Battle Revolution.

i usually go male+my name, but if i get a third version (namely, plat, white 2) i pick the girl on that one.

my choice of MC in this game however, boils down to "do males have long hair?"

A new building shown in the Smash Trailer. No idea what it could be... Possible Elite 4 entrance (where you verify your badges)? Or maybe it's a gym?

It's this building here , seems to be on the same stretch as the daycare. I really doubt it's the elite 4 entrance. it's way too small and out of the way.

I doubt it's a gym either. gyms are usually in towns.

Just a quick reminder: any Europe Southperrians who are buying a 3DS XL for pokemon (XL ONLY, also works if you have an XL but haven't registered it on Club Nintendo Europe) before the end of the day on the 7th of october can get a free download of Animal Crossing through a recommendation code from anyone who has already bought Animal Crossing.

I still have a recommendation code to give out if anyone has bought an XL recently, first person to ask can have it. Any other European southperrians who have animal crossing and don't mind giving out the recommendation code might want to mention it too.

Why does america never get good promos like this? :C Really wished they had a pokemon pre-DLed 3DS like they did in Japan. Also because I seem to have zero games...

Granted America tends to get better promos from other companies sometimes.

I haven't been this excited for a Pokemon game since Pokemon Stadium on n64!

I can't wait to catch the original 150 again

but either way my (US) 3DS has almost zero chance of reaching here before the 7th.

Give it a boost in it's speed stat and it's golden.

God I love Empoleon. It has an awesome typing, 11 resistances (though 9 after XY I guess), 1 immunity, and just look at the damn thing. It has a trident, on it's face. and it has blades for arms, it looks both majestic and badass.

Empoleon for best starter ever.

God I love Empoleon. It has an awesome typing, 11 resistances (though 9 after XY I guess), 1 immunity, and just look at the damn thing. It has a trident, on it's face. and it has blades for arms, it looks both majestic and badass.

I always loved empoleon too, just not its in game sprite. It always made it look fat, while the pokemon anime made it look like the badass penguin pokemon I've always wanted. if they don't increase its speed in its mega evo, I hope its dream world ability at least has swift swim. I haven't checked its dream world ability and I don't really care that much anywyay.

Just a reminder:

The Pokémon Global Link will be closed for maintenance from Oct. 1 to 12, 2013. After this maintenance, users will not be able to sign up for new accounts, and players will not have access to the demo nor be able to add additional games to their accounts. On Dec. 10, 2013, players will no longer be able to tuck in new Pokémon, although Pokémon currently tucked in can be played with and woken up. On Jan. 14, 2014, all services offered by the Global Link will be shut down, except the player's ability to untuck Pokémon. This means that players will no longer be able to change their C-Gear skin, Pokémon Musical song, or Pokédex skin.

The GTS will not be affected by this closure, except that the trade history will no longer be viewable. Random Matchup Rating Mode will be shut down, although Free Mode will still be available.
