Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

The only thing holding me back is that I'm sure as heck not gonna buy a console for a single game. Even with the 2DS as an option.

They have OTHER games...some of my favorites are Kid Icarus Uprising, Kingdom Heart 3D, Project X Zone.

No DLC for XY:

PG: As Pokébank will be a paid service, have you ever thought of going down the microtransaction or free-to-play route with the series?

JM: Definitely not with X & Y, we feel it's really important to have this complete game that can be played as is, so we don't have any plans to have additional DLC.

PG: Not even as an idea for future releases?

JM: [Laughs] Maybe! But not as long as I'm director. One thing I always say about the Pokemon games is that you want to make it something you can give to a kid - of course adults also play it too - and they have a complete experience.

Personally, I could easily put the game into a 2DS when it comes out and give it to a kid and leave them to play. I wouldn't want to give a kid my iPhone and do the same.

Mashable: The streetpass feature on the 3DS has been a great addition to many games. What will it add to Pokémon X and Y?

Masuda: There's two types of things that use streetpass technology. One is a feature we aren't ready to announce yet. The other is the Player Search System, which appears on the bottom screen of the 3DS. Nearby players will appear on the bottom of the screen, and you can tap them to battle them or trade using the streetpass technology. You can connect to the Internet and get a similar experience from players from around the world.

On September 19th, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y surpassed one million preorders. Junichi Masuda shared this news via twitter along with his condolences for former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi's death.

Translated from Japanese, the tweet says:

I just found out about the news regarding the death of former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi. He created the Famicom, and the game business in Japan, and made it into a recognized part of the game industry around the world. And he also loved Pokémon. Mr. Yamauchi, today we surpassed one million preorders for XY… I pray from the bottom of my heart for your happiness in the next world.

Well, that's the worldwide number. There's been 275k preorders for the United States so far (as of 9/14), I'd imagine a lot more in Japan, and the rest spread throughout the other places. I'm sure you'll be able to preorder a copy.

X Legendary looks good up to the head , but the Y legendary looks good all around. That's what I think anyway.

i doubt it, they're printing money here, the game hasn't even come out, nor will for over half a month, and it's already "sold" a million copies.... truth be told i'm a bit scared D:

That special in Japan wrapped up a bit ago. Nothing new related to Origin and XY. Only "new" thing we saw was Serena owns a Fletchling in the anime. We got some new anime footage though, and thus there's pictures:

If you are sharing a game, have you considered buying the download version instead?

By downloading the game to two different SD cards (which are dirt cheap, you can get a big enough one for less than $5), you could each have your own save files.

It's easy enough to do. Put the first SD card in, download the game from the eshop, turn the 3DS off, put the second SD card in, go to the eshop and download it again.

We also share a 3DS. It'd be a hassle to keep taking one out every time one of us wants to play. I've decided to get Tyrunt from the GTS while choosing the Sail fossil.

Bah, I kinda like Dedenne. I really hope it evolves even though the trend has been for it to not to. If not, well, I can always fall back on Jigglypuff for my fairy type

I'm really hoping for an evolution too. I trained a Pachirisu in my first runthrough of Pearl, not realizing that it didn't have an evolution.

'Twas a sad day when I finally realized that it wouldn't evolve, no matter how much I trained it.

I must say, I can hardly contain my excitement. I had faith that Froakie would be badass, and he is. Do you guys think since they created fairy to balance dragons that they then in turn had to look at steel and poison, because those are what check fairy types? Hopefully they did and they made more steel and poison moves/abilities/pokemon.

New set of rumors

Trusk is a Grass/Rock boar Pokemon with long green tusks coming out of its mouth. He is gruff, has grey skin, and features green leaf-like ears. It has an “adorable” pre-evolution with tiny tusks and a leaf at the end of its tail.
A Normal/Poison porcupine Pokemon named Quillom can be found quite early in the game in the forest. It has white skin with light purple quills. He has a Poison-type quill attack which damages and has a high chance of poison.
A Ghost-type spider Pokemon is found in caves. It is dark gray with blue spots and multiple light grey eyes. It has a feint light blue mist around its abdomen. The source doesn’t remember the spelling of its name, but says it was something like “Apparachnid.” He thinks it may have an evolution.
There is a Ground-type badger Pokemon that is dark brown with black stripes going up its face. It knows Slash and a new biting move.
Reconfirmation that Froakie’s final evolution is Water/Fighting. It looks similar to a poison dart frog. The dark blue now takes over its body almost entirely. There are a few even darker (almost black) spots on his sides and face and it gains more of the bubble foam around its neck and down the back. It’s also a bit bulkier. It uses its hind legs a lot and has kicking attacks.
Bunnelby evolves into a Ground/Dark type rabbit that is larger and much rounder. Its color scheme is reversed, with the dark brown now being the prominent color. It can be found in caves. It is useful because you can get it early in the game and use it to evolve Pancham into Pangoro.
Helioptile has an evolution. It is bipedal with a second yellow triangle on its face. Its ears become more jagged and it looks meaner. On its back are what look like spikes with jagged parts at the very top. It can learn a new attack called Thunder Roll, where it rolls up like a wheel and strikes the opponent.
Reconfirmation that Meowstic has a pre-evolution named Espurr. There is no gender differentiation until it evolves. It is mostly white, similar to the female version, with cuter eyes and a single puffy tail. It has a little patch of fur under its head (similar to its evolutions). The fur is dark blueish with little tufts of white in it.
Other Pokemon that are now Fairy-type: the Chansey evolution line, Dunsparce, the Clefairy line, and Togepi’s line.
Fairy Dust is a new move that will randomly cause either Paralysis, Poison, Sleep, or Burn.
Like Magneton, Wailmer is part of one of the Super Training Facility games.
Team Flare makes an appearance right at the beginning of the game. On the TV in your house, one of its members talks about fashion and how your Pokemon should match your style. Team Flare’s signature music has an eerie accordion sound to it in the opening sequence.
The outfit your character wears at the start is colored to match what you’ve set as your favorite color in your 3DS settings. It can be changed easily though.
The opening cinematic is in 3D. (Have to mention this since most of the game isn’t in stereoscopic 3D. :p) It starts off with Yveltal’s cry, which wakes you up. You sit up in your bed. It then pans and there is a shot of your city. Yveltal’s shadow goes over it. After that there is some other shots of your town. You seem amazed that you saw Yveltal. It then shows generic in-game shots like you entering a forest with your friends, selecting your starter, running through a cave, etc. After that it shows Sycamore welcoming you. You are standing outside of his lab at the time, then he takes you inside. It then shows him showing you three Poke Balls which leads into a transformation video where it shows all three Kanto starters evolving to their final forms, and then the three of them Mega Evolving. It’s a really cool cinematic. The video ends with Yveltal flying with the sun behind him, leading in to the title screen. Team Flare is also shown at some point in the sequence.
On the title screen you can use the analog joystick on your 3DS to change the angle at which you see Xerneas/Yveltal.

ehhh, they sound fake to me. But who knows. As far as I can tell there is nothing at all which makes this leaker seem trustworthy at all, and I think Pokebeach is just posting them because the owner loves attention and he'd love it if the rumours turned out to be right again.

Sounds like he's just coasting on the success of the last rumour he posted.

That being said, I'd be happy if all this was true, some of the pokemon designs sound good (apart from that Grass/Rock boar, which sounds terrible, and Bunnelby becoming Ground/Dark when it evolves) and some of the Fairy retcons are cool.

Also why are all the leakers giving rumours to Pokebeach anyway? the guy seems like a major pimento. Serebii is actually a nice guy who does good stuff for the community and Pokejungle is really good too. It's weird.

It all sounds very promising so far. I especially like the idea of the mirror ghost pokemon, also it's weird to have another Rock/Ice pokemon this gen already. It's ability sounds really powerful. Freeze is by far the most game-changing status effect in my opinion, being able to freeze pokemon that easily is wow.

New kinds of pokeball is cool.

The togepi line becoming fairy is expected.

Second eeveelution, it isn't Poison or Dragon.

i don't get the one about the spider. If he has the game he could easily go back and confirm its name..

Quite possible. It's no secret that Nintendo has been sending out review copies ("Sending out" is a bit of stretch, they give reviewers download codes now) as much as a month in advance.
