LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DAY YESTERDAY (Photos included)

Stephen and I decided to go for a hike to find these falls called Ammonite Falls. We follow the directions on how to get there and park. It's overcast and sprinkling rain a bit, but we wanted to see these waterfalls regardless of the weather.

We're walking along the trail and Stephen points out some white-yellow, round mushrooms on the ground and asks if I know what they are. I shook my head and he says, "Puffball mushrooms. Step on them" and so I did. This was the result:

We continue walking and eventually the trail forks. We see an older man riding his horse towards us from the trail on the left, so we figure maybe he went to the falls with his horse. We greet the man and continue on the left-trail, ascending up the mountain. After about 15 minutes of walking, there's a trail that veers off to the left. The online description of how to get to the falls said something like "take a trail that veers right off the trail". Whether that meant "a trail to the right" or it veers "right off the trail", we didn't know. So we took it, and into the woods it went. We spent a good 15-20 minutes walking this trail, and the forest began to subside and we came to a gate and a road.

Wrong way! So we went back and once we got to the main trail, decided we should have probably gone right at the fork. On our way down, we run into Mr.Horse-man again as well as two guys that came out of the woods :f6: I was a little sketchy of them, but they were friendly and it turns out they were just hunting mushrooms. They offered to give us some, and as before I was a bit sketchy, but Stephen's mom hunts mushrooms so he knew what kind they were. They're called chanterelle and are fine for eating. They look like this:

We asked the guys where the falls were, and they told us we indeed should have gone right at the fork, and that it was about a thirty minute hike from where we currently were.
So back on the correct trail, shortly we find a trail that leads off to the right and decide to see what's down there. There were red canister-like object stuck on poles, and further down there was a sign that said "disc golf trail start" or something. Who plays disc golf in the middle of no where :f6:

So wrong path again. We get back on the main trail and continue walking straight until we see a sign that says "Ammonite Falls". After about 15 more minutes of walking, we finally reach the falls area. The path down to the falls was extremely steep, and there were no real stairs. Thankfully there was a rope to hold on to. Here's a photo of the rope/walkway from the bottom looking up:

We finally reached the falls! and here's a few photos of such. Kinda wish there was a bit more water flowing, but still totally worth the time it took, though!

Just kidding. Got too rachet after awhile. A friend thought I was disrespecting another organization. Total misunderstanding.
Afterwards, I held a conversation for like 2 hours with some newly acquainted friends Big Grin

I got back from holiday today, I was off in Scarborough enjoying the beach during a very hot weekend. It rained on friday morning when we set off on holiday, and then it was hot and sunny all weekend and literally started raining again the minute we set off home. very, very lucky!

I got a nice tan, and I think the sea air really helped me. I also had a lot of fun.

Importantly, I found some fossils while I was on the beach, and it's reignited my childhood dream of being a Paleontologist. It's a logical step up from Archaeology, which I thought was quite dull. I looked at courses and I found out that I have the grades to do it, and there's a really nice university in Portsmouth, right near the beach.

Yay for epiphanies!

My best friend is getting really buddy-buddy with someone and I have yet to experience that with...well...anyone! I hope that changes this school year.

Gym closed early again -_-
I'm so happy that everything will close later starting tomorrow! These past 2 days, I've been running around campus late at night in order to exercise. Running up and down stairs at 10pm/11pm/Midnight and my thighs hate me. I'm drenched in sweat when I'm done, but walking back to my dorm doesn't make me feel satisfied. I've been told working out until your legs feel like Jell-O isn't good, but it's the only thing I know of that would make me feel like I've accomplished something.

That, and I don't get the whole deal with leggings :I
I would never wear them in place of pants all togethe (maybe if I was wearing like a shirt-dress-thing)...

Need cute boots though, yes.
