Feedback: Cygnus Awakens

Dark Link Wrote:Regardless, it was pretty clear the item wasn't supposed to work how it used to and thus it was fixed.

Except it wasn't fixed.
It will still save you from death if you use it at the right instant.
But on the other hand it no longer works for its "legitimate" use as potion replacement for normal training.
They need to make it work with auto-pot again, but not prevent death or ignore cooldown. It should function exactly like putting power elixirs on your auto-pot (except for only using up as many HP/MP as needed).

In Monster Life, they've added a line of text to the Random farm visiting button saying that it'll skip "neglected farms".
Seems nice and all, except I've still ended up in a bunch of farms with all-expired monsters, so I have no idea what they consider a "neglected farm".

Oh, and it seems that they've finally properly translated the random gibberish that appears onscreen when you release a monster in your farm. That's nice =]

I just found out something neat about the Cygnus Flash Jump, if you hold up and press Jump again, you can go straight up.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere.

Yeah found that out on accident last night as well. Only annoying part is you HAVE to push up after you jump. Easier IMO to hold up, double tap alt rather than alt > hold up > alt.

It says it in-game... in a rather roundabout way.

It says "Jump in any direction except down"

I love my Striker.
At 2nd Job, you usually circle between three Skills: The normal Thunder Punch, the Roundabout Dolphin Kick which hits all around you except below you, and the wave which pushes you and monsters foward. You usually finish with Flash, because it's a bigger delay to chain after Flash. But with Flash, you can go to other platforms in your range rather nicely, so whoop-whoop and the map is cleared within 10 skills in one combo.
I love this playstyle. Procella, go forth!

Oh, there was no unscheduled maintenance.

I'd just like to commend Nexon on this patch. It was a fairly big one (3 whole class revamps, 3 new theme dungeons, widescreen resolution) and the patch was finished early, lots of bugs were fixed, and there was no unscheduled maintenance. The game seems pretty stable right now.

Well done Nexon.

Can't complain really, a solid 30+ hours of the game being up compared to like 2 hours after the patch like usual.

Plus, it's only 2 hours, not TBD, which is very positive.

You don't like the CWK theme dungeon? I think its nice and I really liked the dialogue.

Dark Link Wrote:You implied wrong.

I didn't imply a thing, lmfao. You're looking for assumed or possibly/preferably inferred.

Dark Link Wrote:What would be the point in creating new and "hard" bosses / mechanics when the old Potion Pot could just 100% ignore everything?

There isn't a single mechanic in the game that potion pot solved that was impossible otherwise. Pot cooldown fixed with aran/evan cards. Sed fixed with status resistance. Ohko attacks fixed by MOVING SOMEWHERE ELSE (or better yet, post red paladin).

Dark Link Wrote:Potion Pot made Magnus and Chaos Vellum a complete joke

LOL REALLY? How many times have you used potion pot at magnus? Oh right you don't "abuse" anything much less play the game. Ask anyone who does magnus, potion pot is detrimental because it sucks death count like a prostitute and leaves 0 ability for you to wait on cooldowns that are usually required to take him down.

Chaos vellum? Ahahahaha. Hardest thing in the world i know. It's not like the attack pattern is predictable or anything. Totally requires potion pot.

Dark Link Wrote:, because the risk of dying was literally removed with how the system worked. Death Count means nothing when you can still auto revive and sit at "Death Count: 00".

Being kicked out of the fight a lot faster sounds like a risk.

I have NEVER had "Death Count: 00" using potion pot. That was a glitch in itself.

Dark Link Wrote:Also, Hard Magnus still drops everything minus Tyrant gear, because you can thank hackers for that. The other pineapple ups are cause Nexon CBA'd fixing anything anymore.

>Still drops everything minus tyrants
>minus tyrants

Yeah dropping nova only is totally worth getting the strongest people on the server to go at him. I'm sure shadow empress dropping everything minus shoulderpads means she works too?

Dark Link Wrote:The point I was trying to make was Potion Pot ruined how bosses worked by letting you tank everything to the face without fear of dying or anything else.

Your point was that potion pot made things easier. I am not disagreeing. My point was that it isn't as easy mode as you think, it really only made empress and DR easier. Also that potion pot being "glitched" did not affect the game as much as you're saying because NO ONE BOSSES WHEN ALL BUT 1 BOSS DON'T DROP THINGS PEOPLE BOSS FOR.

Ellinel Fairy Academy might be my favorite theme dungeon in the game. Amazing music, nice looking area, and a decent story if you actually read the quests instead of holding down 'y'.

My only complaint is the level range but I enjoyed doing it on my Thunder Breaker. Will do it on my other two Cygnus Knights as well.

Not really GMS-related but the level ranges of Ellinel and Riena Strait are quite disappointing. We have enough theme dungeons for that level range.
30~35 = Mushking
35~40 = Kerning Square
40~50 = Gold Beach
50~60 = Chryse

Meanwhile, 60~100 is quite boring with no theme dungeons. Why didn't they make it something like 60~70 for Ellinel and 70~80 for Riena Strait?

Oh boy, the school notes.
"You think you're gonna get a boyfriend? YOU WONT."
Or:
"I think >xxx< got a crush on me. I'm too popular."

Or, my personal favorite:
"Whoever gets this note is an idiot forever!"

Chryse is horrible though, so an alternative is nice to have.

Well there's Sakura Castle for 70-75, Heliseum Takeover for 90-95 and then Ellin Forest from like 95-98(or so).
But yeah, it would've been nice if they made the new theme dungeons fill in the spaces that don't have any Theme Dungeons at all, rather than having them overlap existing ones.

I reccomend not doing sakura castle till around ~105 since the card set it gives gives about a level's worth of exp at 105. its a waste to use it to gain 2 levels at 7x

Chryse really is a horrible area. I did the quest line once and only because I wanted those glasses. Never again will I put myself through that. I'm not that masochistic.

I would think it's better to do it at level 97 or so. The quests, along with the card set, is a good 2 or 3 levels. Then off to Evolution Lab.

I do the quests at 70, avoid picking up the Gigatoad card, then come back at 98 with 40-50% EXP to skip to 100 for 4th Job and Evolving World.
