How was your day? - League of Legends edition
Chazay Wrote:Anyone one you would reccomend? I mainly Top and I really need help mid and jungle.

I watch a top diamond streamer named mahyar and a challenger support player Bubbadub when I have time, you can also watch youtube videos on fissfortune/fissfortune red's channel. Basically people commentating their games helps you a lot when you have time regardless of who they are. There are many things to learn and even where I am right now (gold 2), I don't think I am a very good player as compared to sharkboy and my adc is horrible. The only role that I can play really well isn't even the roles, it's the champs. I can play hecarim/sejuani/wukong well where as anything else I play at a silver level maybe at best except for janna but I haven't really practiced her at all recently.

For some top/mid tips I can give you:
be aggressive, you need to know how much damage your champ does and hopefully know how to play your champ well, by being aggressive I don't mean tower dive and be stupid. I mean learning how to trade properly. Know things like how much minion aggro you going to take, how you might be able to poke them for free damage to come out on top of trades.

For jungle tips, I can tell you:
gank early, the meta right now is basically double buffs>gank. You don't even clear other camps unless there is no lanes to gank. A lot of people at low elo ends up spending too much time in the jungle providing no map control whatsoever, you should also plan out your jungle paths instead of going for the typical blue>red start. For example if their top is immobile and you are on the blue side, instead of going from blue>red. you can go red>blue>gank top. Another example is if their jungler is like nunu/lee sin/shaco. You might want to start red instead of blue because they can invade you easily.

If you want to go for more advanced, you should give top a gank early always and never go there again unless you just happen to pass by maybe, because the early objective is drag, by giving your top a early advantage they should hopefully be able to handle it on their own and you can take drag early once you get a kill at bot or help your mid so they can actually roam and become what's suppose to be a second jungler. Ganking top is the easiest but yields the least rewards. Even now I barely even visit top anymore because It's the furthest away and can hurt my team even more if their jungler is smart and kill bot/force drag. Okay I got top and tower, but they got a free drag and maybe a tower as well and they got 2 kills instead of 1.

Most importantly, don't gank lanes with no kill potential. If you are ganking let's say a kassadin and your laner is a nidalee. You should make the kassadin a very miserable person before lvl 6 and never visit him again after lvl 6. If your laner is behind in cs and underlvled, it makes no sense to gank them either. I don't mean like they died once and has 10 less cs. I mean if they are like 3 lvls behind and has like 30 less cs. Don't even visit them. Don't care about how much they cry, it's not going to do anything for you and just wastes your time. You should eventually determine when you might have a kill potential and when you don't as you keep on playing.

Builds:
try to switch up builds. Even sharkboy tries new builds from time to time, there is no one build for anyone and even as a gold player, I need to improve my builds from time to time. If something doesn't work, don't stick to it. Try to see what's wrong and even ask questions about it. Make sure you have a clear reason why you are building it and think if there is something better.

For example:
you built a berserke, botrk,bf sword, hexadinker, heading for hurricanes next, but why? I can understand the berserke/botrk/hexadinker/bf sword. But why hurricanes? You have really no crit yet, hurricanes is only good if you have your core ready as you don't do much damage without a IE+PD+LW. If you need to push, you sort of already have explosive shot to help with it and if you really need that extra pushing power. SS would be better. I saw no reasons to build hurricane in this situation, but you should know why you built it.

Another trist game you build ionian boots and a trinity force? But why, if you wanted quick procs for trinity then why not play carries like ezreal/corki, trist is basically a full on auto attacker and less of a caster. Trinity force doesn't really work well with her because her cds are long and can't proc sheen well. Again if you have some reason why you built it you should know.
yay 2 wins today, irelia is always lucky, too bad my point earnings are low af

Dyrus rarely provides commentary (except for that 1 singed game) though.

Voyboy?
After going from Silver 3 -> Silver 4 because of teammates who couldn't work together, I qualified for a series and hopefully I can go back to Silver 3. Biggrin
Watching Stonewall's jungle videos are great. He has a bunch of them sped up to 10-15 minute videos. While he isn't DIAMOND ONE PRO MATERIAL, he's solidly in Diamond 5 and he has many smurfs to play in the lower rankeds, which is quite different from higher elos in terms of the carrying one has to do.

I don't think stonewall really gives that much jungle tips, however he is great if you want to know the strengths of the jungler, he often commentates on certain builds for junglers, their current state in the meta, etc. Like his plays are good, you just don't see him commentate why he does some things and what not. He's just like "well I come up to this guy and cuts him for a bit" There are some tip videos though, just the team battles don't really have much tips.
So, I'm finally getting the hang of this Sona support thingy.

 Spoiler

Good warding, objective control, and decent plays. Me gusta.

... You got 7 kills.

You're good.
I mean, not really. I guess that game was luck, since most games I just die to get my carry two or three kills. I swear, their Twitch and Eve would get low in a fight and pick off my carry, then chase me around while I Q'd them to death. I think the people I've been playing underestimate my passive. I am thinking about taking this to ranked games, since I'm tired of people calling me pomegranate because I'm Bronze.
Idk what I am doing with my life, I wasn't aiming for plat at all and if corn didn't want to duo with me when I was gold 5 I prob would just stayed there and practiced in normals. Right now I'm pretty much watching diamond streams, improving builds and get many tips for plays and practicing them in normals. I don't really feel like climbing but theres a part of me that says "hey just go for plat since you are gold 2 already" I guess if corn passes me or both my g1 friends get to plat I will try getting there and get it over with. Right now I'm pretty much playing ranked every few days so I don't get inactivity and getting little amounts of point increases here and there.

Oh yea there is also university so I don't want to go too deep into climbing. I wanna keep it to a minimum. Theres also a part of me that just wanna watch anime all the time but I can't really find many that I can get into and the ones I get into(like 13 episodes) I finish in 1 day gg.

I'm pretty much the opposite of corn though, my support janna has dropped quite a lot and my adc sucks. My laning is pretty good but I can only play wukong, nothing else(too afraid to actually test my other champs in ranked). My jungle is great, although I had some troubles in the beginning due to random builds. I think I got a good full tank build down now, so none of the squishy crud on hecarim except as a last item.
Been a bit since I stopped by due to work and other boring non-LoL related things.

Made Silver 3, putting me closeer to that Elise Skin. Really proud of myself for finally getting over my ladder anxiety and going back in.

I was bored and tried the Deathfire Grasp Ahri build on Lissandra. It was absolutely disgusting. Carried me through my promo. Anyone you find alone is dead. Pure and simple.

Just also been using ranked to improve some champions I've always wanted to improve at but never had the time due to my devotion to Kennen/Nidalee. Starting to get the gist of Irelia and finally got a solid win rate and KDA on Zac/Renekton and Ezreal/Vi.

Bah. Stressful day on League today. lol

Keith, Wally and I played Twisted Treeline as Kayle, Tryndamere and Udyr, respectably. Wally couldn't even manage to play, for some reason, as his client would crash every time he'd try loading it up. So, it ended up being a 2v3. I was stomping face, but it didn't matter. They out-manned Keith and I. We lost. I ended 9/7/4. It was a fun match, though, and the guys on the opposing team were pretty nice about it.

Our second game of the night was awful. Pure awful. We went up against a team with 3 silver players, a gold player and an unranked, while our team was 4 unranked and 1 silver. wtp is that pomegranate? Can the match-making system suck any more? Jesus. Anywho, Udyr (Tigerdyr) and Blitzcrank on their team were both jungling, while I was jungling as Volibear. Blitzcrank snags and smites my blue as I'm trying to get it at the beginning of the game and I was 100% certain that their Udyr was at my red, so I then head toward their red. Nope. They both jet straight toward me. They took turns camping my jungle so hard, I fell behind like crazy. Their Fiora dominated top and got fed, bottom was wrecked, due to double jungler ganks, and mid had some issues, but held off decently. I couldn't gank at all, or even help my team mates under our own turrets. Since I was so underfed, all they'd do was dive me like crazy and get away. The Fiora had enough life steal that she could turret dive all 5 of us and get away with 100% HP. How dumb... I really do not know how, but I somehow managed to make a comeback during the game and ended up getting a "Legendary" kill streak. We lost. Hard. What the hell is with the match making system? On a positive note, despite the major pressure put on me and all of the strong counter-jungling they performed, I made a great turn-around. I ended up with 12/7/15.

The third game was stressful, but it turned out well. All of the lanes were losing, except mid. Their Singed kicked our Aatrox's ass, our Akali was dominating mid, and bottom was losing hardcore. I was trying my best to help gank, counter jungle, take objectives, and the like, but I felt like it was nowhere near enough. I just couldn't help win lanes... We ended up winning it, though. We forced a surrender.

I don't know what I should do when this kind of pomegranate happens - when no one on our team can seem to hold their lanes. I can't be everywhere at once. I focused on soloing Dragon every time it came up, ganking mid so we could capture turrets faster, and counter-jungling the enemy Vi, so she would be less impactful. It helped, I guess. If we could force a surrender, despite the rough early game, I wonder if I'm onto something.

Thanks for all the advice. About the builds, The hurricane one, we fed too hard and I needed to just attack as much as I could. I was more focused on attack speed at that point. About the tri, my friend said to build tri on trist because.. Ihave no idea why. I tried it knowing it might not work, it didn't.

attack speed is only good if you have some damage already.

They were in base with 2 inhibs. We weren't coming back.
