Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
I thought the music in this game was good, then I got to Couerth Highlands, now its gone full on awesome. I pineappleing LOVE the FF organ music, and everything in Couerth has an organ in it.
Thunder Wrote:Leveling your second job to 50 will kill you inside.

And that's why I will be leveling every single class to 50. IF YOU GO IN, YOU GOTTA GO ALL IN. Already 36 on ARC and have SMN/CNJ unlocked, I thought summoner was gonna be the done deal for me but conjurer is actually more fun, healing on it for instances is so easy, I'm not even speced as healer statwise, most of the time I can just throw dots up before going back to healing, not focus only on heals, because fairy regens everyone so often.

Foolyz Wrote:I am waiting on any news of a way to re-spec my Chocobo's skills. I chose Defender tree and it is SO useless, I would rather go with Attacker. Apparently, max rank is 10, so if I started spending in the Attacker tree, I would be missing on a few of the highest skills.

Max rank is only 10? wtp, I wanted to get it maxed attack+heal tree and free stance it. Guess I'll have to skip on a few final attacker skills so I can at least get chocoregen and stuff...

An extra week would be greatly welcomed. I have barely been able to play this game at all because I don't feel like staring at a login screen for hours, and I don't want have to play between the hours of midnight and 8 AM. If I hit Error 1017 for 5 minutes, no thanks, I'm off to do something else. The server issues have really hurt my ability to enjoy the game and my desire to continue playing.

I do agree with that logic. However, could they at least tweak the enmity gain for Defender skills? I mean having a tank would be super useful for many classes. As it currently stands, however...

Polantaris Wrote:They said on the forums that you can't, at least not currently.

That's why I said I'm waiting on news for a re-spec. Something's gotta change!

I'm making a bigger deal of this than it really is. However useless the skills are, it's nice to have an extra possible target and some free damage. I'll drop it.

I have a couple of questions,

Does anyone play this on ps3, and if you do how practical is it? (As far as having too many skills for buttons and other gameplay nuances that could be effected while limited to a controller)

I have heard an extensive amount of negative feedback concerning the servers and how impossible it is to get on to actually play the game, would it be recommended that I wait on getting the game till a time where SE has fixed the issues with not being able to accommodate all the players?

Regarding the ps4 version, is there any information regarding whether I can upgrade/get a discount for the ps4 version once that is released, since I would have already purchased the pa3 version?

I play it on the PC using the controller setup, and can say so far it's pretty decently arranged for easy accessibility. The most annoying thing from a controller perspective is trying to target things in a crowd. I get annoyed trying to pick a quest NPC when there are 30 players by it.

I'd wait till 9/5 to even bother trying based on my own experiences.

I'm playing with a 360 gamepad and it works well for everything but menu access and targeting. I'd definitely go to KB/M for anything particularly difficult, but for questing and probably regular dungeons, it's nice to be able to play from your couch.

What issues are you having with the menus? Those seem to work pretty well for me, although I think I liked the original menu system better.

That's good to hear, although the targeting sounds irritating.

Whats happening on 9/5?

None, it's just way faster to use a keyboard and mouse. Directly clicking things is always faster than cycling.

tikey's link Wrote:Scheduled Maintenance for Wednesday, September 4 (Japan Time)

The addition of new Worlds, as well as the adjustments to the duty finder servers, will be complete as of tomorrow. We will then enter our final internal testing phase of these features in preparation. If the results from these tests are favorable, we will conduct an extended all-World maintenance on Wednesday (Japan time). Once the new Worlds are implemented and the duty finder server load has been redistributed over smaller World server groups, we believe that many of the login issues that players are currently experiencing will clear.

I hit 45 a few days ago on an archer. I just kinda got tired of it already. =/

If you got tired of Archer, try some crafting or gathering or even just play a different class. If you are bored of the game then you are doing something wrong since I'm loving every second of it.

I can't seem to stay on a melee class for too long. I loved doing lower-level dungeons with my company today. Finally got a craft to 20, and man there are so many things to gather in this game. Literally spent two hours just chopping away at bushes and hammering rocks. There is a severe need for inventory management in this game, though.

EDIT: I just finished the level 34 questline up to where you return to the Waking Sands...

Were you guys all legacy server or something? I've been online 15-20 hours a day since launch and I'm only level 40. Saturday was the only day I missed due to login issues.

I just started in a random server during P4; I'm not legacy. I missed two whole days due to 1017. The only reason I'm not cap is because I'm an altwhore. It's not a race, anyways Smile

What's the point of having alts in a game where your main can be everything simultaneously with no extra costs or effort? :f6:

What? I have all of my classes on one character. I was referring to alternate classes, as opposed to my main, SMN. That's all. Oh, and I tried out SCH last night! Even though I'm specced for SMN, I enjoy the gameplay. However, Selene really should have some sort of attack. She just stands there, doing nothing. My damage output really suffers, even though I know SCH is a healer/support. I feel like I would be doing even more damage if I specced into Mind, just because they have access to Cleric Stance.

Love this game. Number of players are crazy. Got my Bard to 50 few days ago, Carpenter to 50 yesterday, really expensive at the end.
