Sister and I started up the game last night. Playing through Hard Mode. We stopped right after leaving Nia Khera.
Are there any good recommendations for the Lilium Orb? I know a lot of people said to not bother with a "Build" since you max everything by 99/100, but doesn't hurt to ask. We've been mostly following the "Auto-Level" option, with a few manual choices here and there, but we don't know how reliable the option is.

from what i get from just playing, try to get an elemental attack of each kind, and focus on leveling for the bonuses. you get a second lilium orb and it has some OP stuff in it for cheap. (plus if you likemin-maxing, there's that 2%/1% chance to raise max HP/TP at the end of battle)

Got everyone to Lv99 last night, which resulted about 6k grade total. Starting my 100% Milla run tomorrow. If I manage to make it out of the Grade Shop that is.

btw, really enjoying how... different all of the characters play, also i'm completely in love with jude's back step, that's some naruto stuff right there, shame it only works if you're targetting the attacker.

also: pineapple THE COLISEUM.

My friend that mains Jude said Pivot Step breaks the game even at level 1. Seems like every character can break the game in some way; Rowen and Elize can both infinite combo aoe, Rowen full map...

The falling on single player is annoying, yeah, better to finish those later when you get the 30% cast speed amulet and 4 spirits back, using Milla.

Started my Milla playthrough, but I didn't know that the characters keep wearing the costumes they had on on your old save. Swimsuit Milla and Leon Jude, partners in crime! Having access to a Mystic Arte right away is hilarious as always.

The best grinding I've found so far is with Rowen in the Advanced Single Coliseum. Have the first four party members wear Dark/Demon Seals (the ones that give 1.5x exp), fight an easy battle on the field, then spam Tidal Wave in the Coliseum with a +100% exp food effect and you'll be level 99 in no time. The seals work on the first four party members when only one is fighting. You can even set the game to easy because all that changes is the bonus exp from extra combos and it's faster to just repeat the battle. It gives about 32k experience on the victory screen per fight.

Yeah, the hardest parts of the coliseum I've had was falling. The fight with party members is pretty neat until you charm them and they mystic arte their partner.

Now that everyone has played a bunch, has anyone found a good use for Soaring Vortex or Sun Spark? I always thought Soaring Vortex was one of the worst artes in the game. Its range is bad, and its startup is horrible. Sun Spark has a similar issue but at least you can use it to Charm things and it does pretty high damage.

Does anyone play using With Milla for Jude? I liked how it changed up the variety of his artes, but Demon Fist was one of the artes I took off my shortcuts when I reached the max number. It's a really good improvement over Demon Fist though, and I prefer it over Whirlwind Snap if I'm just looking for a Wind arte. Palm Strike/Reaper's Toll was one of my primary attacks, and Flare Bomb is significantly weaker, and has knockdown. Replacing Coil with Aqua Protection though feels wasteful. It is nice being able to summon three orbs at once, but the damage boost you lose hurts if you don't have 9999 yet. Grave on the other hand is fantastic. In the end, I rarely used it.

What'd everyone use and drop for Milla?

Falling out of the arena is really stupid, mostly because you can't really tell if an arte will move you over the edge. Unless you're using Alvin's Twin Moonlight Cleft or Dragon Salvo, in which case you kind of deserve falling to your death.

I haven't bothered with Milla Sync (as it's called in English) so far. I also can't get Jude Sync (which should allow Milla to use Jude's Pivot Snap) to work, but I've only tried it on my NG+ with very little other skills available.

I ditched both Soaring Vortex and Sun Spark ASAP. Leia gets to keep Soaring Vortex since she has nothing to replace it.

I ditched Soaring Vortex on Leia for more spells. I rarely ever used Recovery Ring after Elize got Dispel. I liked Talon Storm though since it flowed so well. Blunt Fang isn't terribly useful in my opinion, since it's somewhat slow and the OHKO isn't reliable, but it's Jude's only Dark arte, and it activates Scarlet Fang which is one of my favourite Link Artes. If the monsters have a ton of HP, it's helpful.
I never really used Cyclonic Surge since Jude's air to ground options aren't that great and he has enough other ground to air and air to air. Rising Falcon and Mirage Blitz, which doesn't even do any damage. I'm particularly fond of Aqua Sweep + Dragon Shot/Swallow Dance since they have force downed to stand.

After getting the higher tier Spirit Shifts, I rarely if ever used any of the lower tier ones. Flare Bomb and Wind Blade have really poor damage:TP ratios though as they go up. Gnome and Undine are really good sources for Earth and Water, especially since Aqua Protection is so bad and Splash has a cast time, albeit a short one. Sigil Spear is broken since you can infinite lock any non-boss with it alone and it almost instantly charges your link gauge.

noeul Wrote:Who are you playing as? During my hard playthrough with Milla that battle was simple because I abused the elemental weakness (was it earth?) paired with Alvins link arte which is quake breaker or something along those lines.

I was Jude and my sister was Milla. I was more or less playing as the "backup" healer. I was probably doing something horribly wrong as Jude. I couldn't do pomegranate as every attack would just make me go underneath the boss and then I'd just get hit for free damage.

If I remember correctly there's a purple chest thingy that you can get that's attached to one of the stone pillars at the caves near Jude's town. I have to ask though, why would you want it? To me it's a waste of SP but I'm probably missing out on something amazing Hurt

i can practice combo's, linking and everything with that, since the enemies won't fight back (low level), and i barely deal the damage to kill them.
