I don't mean to insult, but are you sure you used the Occult Cube that is limited to Epic? There are two, the tradable ones are limited to Epic, the untradable ones from the RA Boxes are limited to Unique. If you are, that's good news. Also, did you try to go to Legendary?

I did the same with my RA hat, the occult cubes (the ones from the atttendance) get to unique 100% rank up stuff.

The occult cubes that are tradeable are not limited to Epic on 100% tier upgrade items. Well, not really. You can use them on epic items, but not unique. The 100% tier upgrade status overrides the natural potential cap of the occult cube, allowing you to get unique with them.

I didn't try to go for legendary and I don't think cubing them again works, because it'll say that you can't use the item with that equipment.
