Well, since they are gifting a torchic, I hope that Fennekin is Fire/psychic.

This is the best thing to ever happen to Pokemon. And I'm not saying that because Mawile and Ampharos are my favorite Pokemon.

Well they did say there would be new ways to make Pokemon evolve I guess this was it. I thought it would be something more boring.

On the whole I think they look better than the originals so that's cool.

Though I find the term mega to be really cheesy especially when used with Mewtwo. I hope that changes when it's translated.

So how to do a mega form just make it more hairy and wavy than the original.

MegaAmpharos is Electric/Dragon that's interesting if they change type too.

Agh, to be honest, I think the idea of "Mega evolutions" to be kinda dumb. But I've been pretty accepting of all other Evolution Stone evolutions, so I guess I'm being a little hypocritical, though.

Don't get me wrong, all the evolutions look really badass, and some of the Pokemon getting them are awesome (pineapple yeah upgraded Absol and Lucario and Mawile), but something about it just irks me. Also, was the new Mewtwo not confirmed to just be an alternate form? So now it's a "mega evolution"? I'm guessing at this point that there isn't going to be a second alternate form, like has been speculated, as that means the other form would be another new Evolution Stone.

The thing that annoys me the most with this: taking up 1 of the new Pokemon slots for a starter "mega evolution". That's just dumb. It's going to annoy the hell out of me if Blaziken ends up being the only one with a "mega evolution" and no other starters get one, too.

Also, Ampharos' mega evolution look:
"Alright, so these other Pokemon got really badass designs for their new evolutions--new color schemes, extra spikes and protrusions, the works... now for the last one and we're done for the day. What should we do for Ampharos' evolution?"

I thought the same thing, until I read you can only use one per team. You know what that says to me? They want you to take your favorite pokemon and make him like pikachu is to ash, and I find that a great idea. Plus it add's a new type of challenge to the gym leaders, such as "ONYX IS MY ACE, SO HES MEGA ONYX". Assuming the rumor of all pokemon (excluding a few) get this evolution.

Blaziken and Lucario are among my favorite pokemon ever. I want this to be real C:

No way in hell is that going to happen. There are like, 350ish fully evolved forms of pokemon, and we've gotten at most around 150 new pokemon in a new generation (in b/w).

No way are they making the 350 new designs + all the new pokemon for even a significant number to have mega forms.

I read it on one of the comments in another pokemon thread, I just went all gullible on it because I have no idea how they are selecting it.

Well. What the hell? Not to sure how I feel about this. It's just. Adding an adjective to the name is not something I like on my Pokemon. I was fine with it in Digimon, but not here.

Maybe not right now, but eventually via DLC.

Awakened Mewtwo is now MegaMewtwo, ability is Insomnia.

MegaBlaziken's ability is Speed Boost.

MegaLucario's ability is Adaptability.

MegaAbsol's ability is Magic Bounce.

MegaMawile's ability is Huge Power. It and Mawile are also Steel/Fairy type.

MegaAmpharos's ability is Mold Breaker. It also becomes Electric/Dragon type (Regular Ampharos remains mono Electric).

Please for the love of god let there be a mega sceptile that is dragon/grass ;____;
