Your obsession with this game has poisoned your perspective of fairness and rationality.
3k can add up fast when you're buying multiple packs.
I'm sure if you can afford to spend 16k on a pack of cubes, 1.8k won't hurt your wallet either. A shop permit is a must anyway, why would you not have one?

Why should it be a necessity to begin with? You justify with "lesser than two evils" concept, which isn't smart at all because a bad day could always get worse, much like a bad deal. So when you tell people not to complain because you can specifically tolerate it, you only become part of the perpetuating problem of Nexon's incompetency.

Because an argument between a player and a non-player will ever come out with mutual understanding.

Because they're sure as hell not making us happy through revamping old systems, such as their crappy upgrade system.
- False.
- They aren't obligated to do a damned thing.
- It is only your opinion that they must give sales to keep the player base happy.
- The player base can be happy about whatever they want as there is more to the game than just sales. Sales being your primary concern does not affect what the other players in the game want. I suggest that you speak for yourself instead of making baseless claims about what every player wants, or needs in order to be happy.

Would it be better to buy a pack of enlightening cubes or platinum?
This would be for trying to get 60%+ boss on an already legendary crossbow.

Enlightening.
There is never a situation where platinum could be justified unless maybe you have a unique item and you either want it legendary or to have a 9% line on 2nd/3rd so you can lock it, and even then only on miracle time.

I think instead of looking at the negatives on this it might be better to look at the positives...
Last day of the Super Cube event = last day of the attendance for unique pot scrolls. Most people will be able to finish their attendance and unique their gear, and I think it's nice that there is at least some sort of sale going on for cubes that normally cost almost 20k per stack.
Not to mention they last for 30 days, and I can't see them NOT having another miracle time event within the duration of these cubes if you buy them on the last day (you would have up through Sept 13th to use them).

They're obligated to keep the player base happy. Some players enjoy good sales, I know for a fact that many south perricans do. They should give good sales because they sure as hell do not care about anything else aside from just constantly releasing new classes while neglecting the biggest problem areas of the game.
So if they're going to milk me of my money they might as well give me a good sale for it, because they're obviously not going to make the game any better in other areas.

- Sure, some players enjoy sales, and some enjoy other things.

They're required.

By this point I (personally) would rather just pay a reasonable monthly fee than deal with any of it. Maplestory is literally the only F2P game I can somewhat stand to play.

Actually I can prove it's irrelevant.
He may not have articulated his point as well as I hoped but let me explain some common sense to you. When computers require more ram, ram got cheaper in bulk. When maplestory requires more cube enhancements in order to enjoy a large amount of content at a reasonable pace, then cubes should be sold in bulk. Normally 19 dollars, 3 dollars off is a measly 15%.
But hey! Plenty of people celebrate computer parts with a large sale like that! Hell most of the time it's only 10%! I'm sure you're saying to yourself. Now take a step back and realize that to sell ram you have a manufacturer, a retailer/website, shipping and handling, and probably a few things imbetween that all want profit. Nexon literally pulls this sh`it out of the sky, would it kill them to do 20 cubes for 10 dollars? NO. They gain all of the profit, and costs nothing to produce besides the energy to keep the f`ucking game up. Hell if I played I'd charge frekin $100 for that deal, and I'm sure a lot of other players would fork up just as much. Nexon is so bent on short coming profits they can't see the potential from deals like these, they just can't. And I'm not sure it's because they don't understand that to get a specific 21%+ stat item is still in my opinion slightly ridiculous.
Now that we've gone through all that, let's get to your point, where you claim;
thejman250 Wrote:as there is more to the game than just sales.
There's two things wrong with that, the first one being, the person you're quoting is specifically stating the happiness when it comes to the "cubing" aspect of maplestory. His wording "enhancements. Secondly, that's half the reason people are addicted, they want to get stronger, they want to get that growth to be able to be self-sustaining. People play to ultimately enhance their stuff, so they can fight bosses. That's literally the end game content for you. Cube>Boss>cube more>boss. You make money to simply grow stronger, then when it's neigh impossible based on the current enhancements to upgrade more you either, wait til a new cube, nebulite, fu`cking moon moon sticker pops up, or you make a new class and start over.
Yes some players are much more easily entertained by the fact they can use high level skills, that they can play omok, or that they can run a guild. But that point doesn't have any correlation towards the original topic which was the feelings about cubes. Releasing a brand new cube doesn't necessarily get anyone excited, but decent types of sales do as it gives everyone a more fair access to those enhancements.
You read his first point and jumped to the conclusion that he simply meant that the sales of CS items are what keeps players here, but if you continue reading he was specifically stating the enhancement policy is pretty f`ucked up currently, and sales just make it a lot easier to manage. Thus, players will only be happy with the sales that result in cheaper cubes, because currently the updates concerning the enhancements have simply dug the inexcusable crap even deeper.

If maplestory became pay to play tomorrow I would play it. Take everything in cs and make it accessible in game, it would be perfect for me. However, before anyone jump downs my throat, I know that would be economic suicide on Nexon's part.

Hopefully nobody would jump down your throat for an opinion.
Economic suicide in the sense that P2P makes less money, or in the sense that nobody would subscribe? I really wish that the two models could coincide somehow, though I know that would never happen. I remember reading something once about a particular MMO having both where the P2P users got access to "premium" content that F2P users would have to buy into.

Going pay to play would drop the millions they make to mere thousands. There aren't a lot of big spenders in maplestory, but the ones that are go big and not home.

You don't put things on sale to get customers happy, dumdums; you put things on sale to get more sales.
No business is obligated to put things on sale, they just do it because more money

Well you have to pay the employees for coding these items in, but you are still right. In all honesty what they charge for some of the crap in the CS is ridiculous, given the items are indeed imaginary and therefore have no real way to assign value to them.

- What is irrelevant is subjective and hence, always an opinion.
- Moreover, opinions are not true or false. You have the audacity to claim to be explaining common sense to me and yet, you apparently lack the common sense to decipher fact from opinion. How incredibly ironic.
- Furthermore, you're attempting to "prove" an opinion (which is utterly fallacious and illogical in itself), and you've posted nothing except more opinions, which I don't care about at all. How ironic.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted that you believe that whether a subject is irrelevant is simply an opinion and cannot be factual. If you're talking about the definition of irrelevant and I talk about chickens, then it is in fact an irrelevant statement. Which makes essentially the rest of your post pompous retardation.
thejman250 Wrote:- There is only something "wrong" with my statement in your opinion.
The subject of the matter is about the enhancements of the games being brokenly expensive, so to make customers happy (which they are obligated too as Nexon provides a service they afterall aren't a charity), they would need to provide ways to lower that expense. This would include, gasp, sales. Your opinion on the subject is about how nexon can just randomly add additional end game content (which ironically would most likely be dependent on cubes), which is irrelevant to the point made. That isn't an opinion, that is a fact. The reason this is a fact is because they are two frekin different subjects that you tried to pin together with the common variable of how nexon can make customers happy. This means you didn't understand the concept presented to you, which would be, that people aren't exactly happy with the enhancement method of the game, especially it's cost, so they can compensate that negative by giving more generous sales.

I've been playing this game a long time, the psychology of the players is obvious. People play for the same end result, in the same vicious cycle, the difference between my opinion and yours is mine is based off facts. Cube sales, bossing, threads about damage, ranking's, fm, the gold farming in abundance, nexon's quarterly reports, the smega's, an opinion does not default to baseless, child. Unless you would like to provide factual evidence, otherwise sit down and shut up with this silly "Oh opinion" bull crap you've been fed.

The concept that is going over your head is he didn't flat out say that was the only method "factually" to make the player base happy. He continued his thought with a "because" which leads to the statement;
"Because they're sure as hell not making us happy through revamping old systems, such as their crappy upgrade system."
Which leads to the conclusion that his point is specifically on the enhancement system, where players are not happy with the revamps and additions to it. What else can you do to make the players specifically happy about the enhancement system if more additions don't please them? You provide sales to lower the cost, considering most of their event's have such a significant drawback it doesn't compare to the cubes shop.
That's twice I had to explain that to you, let's not make it a third, okay princess.
EDIT:
I'd also like to openly mock you as any argument is opinionated perspectives who are pressed together until facts are presented to show which perspective is correct. In the very definition of "argument" is the purpose to persuade someones frekin opinion. Seriously have you taken debate in high school yet?
