Sorry to hear.. :/
I don't really think you have anything to worry about. Just be care around Luminous players cause it seems connected when TropicThrow got banned for no reason too.

I just got a computer capable of playing Maplestory without any issues or lag whatsoever, and I'll have an extremely fast internet connection soon (ala my dorm room), but this kind of stuff like this makes me wonder if I should even bother. I like the game, and I love its art style and all that jazz, but I really don't feel like investing into a ban-happy moneysink. Anything can get you banned these days. Is it even worth it when your chances of getting blocked are so high?

Considering nothing bad even happened to me you're honestly not ACTUALLY directing that towards me. :f6: I'm more concerned for my guildies, and I already apologized to your friends for before. Take your little grudge somewhere else, it doesn't belong here.

I mean, short of being a hacker, I doubt anyone's chances of being flat out banned are high enough to warrant the consideration that the game is unplayable. But, hey, to each his or her own *shrug*.

Yeah, that is something no one can really argue about. :/

MuscleWizard Wrote:wait don't the kills have to be within your level range?
if I had to take a guess, people getting credit for kills done on a lower levelled character is technically an exploit.
also, having a full party of people leeching kills and saying nothing, even if it's all different people, to a gm, it will look like one person on six clients.
I've tried that before and it doesn't work (a long time ago, so maybe they changed it?) The killer must be similarly leveled to the monster and the leachers must be similarly leveled to the killer or the monster to leach. (e.g. you can't leach a level 30 monster from a level 40 killer when you are level 100, you are too high above the killer for the party kill to count.)
To the OP: Did the mob killer get banned too or just the leachers? You didn't have any cuss words or inappropriate conversation did you? (Maybe the GM hit the wrong option on the drop down box and meant language or w/e they call that ban.) If you didn't see the GM maybe you triggered auto ban (since it's not perma - only live GM can perma ban). How fast did you kill those monsters? (And why do sever people say it's a perma ban, the ss shows a date when the person can log in again?)
Oh and to all who care, I regularly log in 3-6 (and sometimes 7) computers at a time and I've never been banned for it. o.O

Still going for it though.
Maybe use a less popular place that lacks trigger happy GMs?

Over the years, I've seen people get blocked/banned for:
-Riding mounts
-Hanging on ropes (ala this topic)
-Swearing
-"Harassment"
-Lagging
-Training (Was banned once at Skelegons using Blizzard, have heard multiple instances of Arans being blocked while training, which leads me to...)
-Using certain skills (Such as Aran's "Body Pressure")
-Falling victim to issues on Nexon's part (Mass bannings in error that are later corrected, but take time)
-Having "inappropriate" user names (Note that when I say "inappropriate" in quotation, I've seen cases before where said names weren't using any sort of bypass to use swear words in the name or anything like that)
-Gifting NX
-Using paypal to purchase NX in general
-Attacking anything too quickly
-Receiving gifted items
-Being banned by gray areas/technicalities of particular events ("You can't do that on more than one character!")
-Partying others who receive bans for any of the above reasons (Assuming that the player wasn't using any cheats or third party programs)
and finally
- No clear reason at all. No, really. I've had this happen to both myself and to friends before. Log in, disconnect, log out, banned. No explanation over ticket. Does it sound stupid? Does it sound unbelievable? It is, and it should be, but its happened.
If the chances arn't very high, they're at least moderately high. The autoban system in general is far too sensitive. With all of the "Nexon bans another innocent" topics that seem to float around discussion boards these days, I think I have fairly good reason to believe that a ban isn't that terribly difficult to receive.

The only thing you really have to watch out for that is not logging into I believe its 20 or more different accounts in under a few hours. Will IP ban you and cause any account you try to access after the IP ban to be reset via email and change the password. Happened to me for the heart hot time a couple weeks ago so safe to assume they are still doing those bans.

You may not agree that the circumstances warrant my reaction, but I do have a fairly good reason to believe that the chances of being suspended for at least some period of time without causing any major disruptions is possible indeed.
How many people do those things and don't get banned? How many people have viewed this thread and been banned?
Even if we were generous and assigned a 1% value to each of those (silly) reasons...that still isn't that high. I've had easier times not losing my s'hit during hacking epidemics where the "lose your s'hit rate" is BY DEFINITION "moderately high".

Honestly the percentage isn't that high, but when it becomes personal the problem seems much more noticable. You can play the game for years and not care because nothing happens. Then when it happens, well you are at the mercy of Nexon ( hurhurhur)
I've been hacked on WoW 3 times within 2 weeks after 6 years of playing . I think it was an adobe flash exploit or something, but their CS got back to me within the day and I had everything back the next day. If nexon's CS was even remotely close to Blizzard then I'd be much more lenient, but we all know how god awful their CS is.

My mushy got changed from "x" to "I LOVE MAPLESTORY!" Being too lazy to put a shop name is against the rules apparently.
