If she is, the average height in the metroid world must be like 7'0, because she's dwarfed by every character she meets in any of the games where you end up interacting with other humanoids.

I would think side-B is the "pick up anything" move since the function implies a left/right directional move.

I'm more inclined to think this is a new item...like kirby's star.
