Current Channel Crashes

Don't blame Nexon, everyone, but blame the hackers for causing this to happen.

However, if you lurk deeper, it's actually Nexon's fault for not updating the hackshield to block this problem but hackers always find a way for some reason.

That's what happens when you let hackers do their thing unchecked for who knows how many years.

I do note that I observed a significant (read: large) increase in hacker presence and activity yesterday in Leafre, Windia. Coupled with a low CC1/CC2 load when I just logged on, I knew that something must have been amiss. Thankfully I had a good connection and could loot relatively fast, so I snagged 150 town boxes for my Xenon and finished everything up.

LF> A more decent explanation from Nexon.

I hope they don't give out a free attendance stamp. Why? Because I did it on 20 characters, so you really don't have an excuse. No need to wait till literally the last few hours of the day to do it (except for those that jobs or time zones prevented this).

Bring on the pomegranates.

So, because you had time to do it, means they shouldn't compensate anyone else who was possibly busy during the day?

Talk about a selfish, self-centered pimento.

Attendance events suck for some people who work. :|

Add to work, going on vacations and various other trips that don't have wifi Sad
I'm really fucked with the whole ring and attendance thing cuz I've been so busy while I'm in Canada.

Well, as always, at least someone leaked the crash to be public so it got nexon's attention fast... (although some deflation in the market, aside from CHAIRS, would be nice now and then)

For some people, waiting is ASAP.

How, exactly, does it hurt you, if they give free stamps when the game is down for such a long time?
One stamp does nothing. Just gives people a "premium dice".
If they don't do the work and kill 300 mobs on 20 characters for all the other 13 days of the event (or, let's be realistic, 11-12 days, assuming another long maintenance or two with free stamps), they won't get "free" iCoGs.

My comment was aimed at all the lazy people that had the time to do the attendance before, but decided to wait till the last minute and then complain the game was down. The game was up for most of the day, and there was plenty of time to do it for most people. I do understand that some people had job/school/timezones that interfered or didnt let them play, but the game was still up for another 2 hours before the day ended, which is enough to do it on at least 10 characters. Would as many people have asked for a stamp if the maintenance happened to be at the beginning of the day and not the end?

I don't see why it's lazy to expect to do your attendance at your usual Maple playing time.
This maintenance was in the evening, prime playing time. Many people only play then. I don't think it's particularly lazy or stupid to assume you'd be able to do an hour or two of attendance after dinner.

Again, if these people were lazy, they wouldn't have done attendance the day before, and they wouldn't do it the 12 days after. They were not lazy, just slightly optimistic.
Yes, they probably don't have Maple Attendance at the top of their priority list. I don't think they deserve to miss out on the event for that.

Then you should've specified that before.

I think it's selfish of you to say that...you may have had time to do it on 20 characters, but for some of us who work 8-9 hour work days and have to commute to our jobs 1 hour each way, only for the game to crash as soon as we get home and be down for hours only to have it come back up at our bedtime, where's our window of opportunity to get the attendance event done? If I was physcially capable of staying up an extra hour I would've but what to do when I'm falling asleep at my computer?

I managed to get 2 of my character's attendance done in the morning before work, and then 1 before the servers were brought down in the evening. I mean even I wouldn't even care if they didn't give us a free stamp but at least give us an extra day to do the event on characters that couldn't get it.

Maplestory is a game, not a job/school project, it should be working towards the players leisure, not a corporate 9-5 job :|

People forget that. Seeing how grindy Maplestory is currently it's not hard to see why. "Log in for 30minutes", "kill x number of monsters everyday", and that kind of thing feels like work.

So, who exactly in this thread? Or just hoping that someone who was actually "lazy" reads it?
Feels like an unnecessary slap on the face to those that for reasons out of their control couldn't do it.

My job is from 5pm-1am, so I probably have slightly different playing times than most people Tongue
