How was your day?
Finally made it to Auckland a couple of days ago. Right as I landed, I was whisked away to Waiheke Island for some orientation and introduction to Maori culture. It was pretty fun. They taught us how to basketweave a flower and I failed miserably. They also took us kayaking and though I fell in twice, I had a boatload (that was punintentional) of fun. Now I'm back to my homestay and kind of just chillin since I'm pretty jet-lagged.

So ends another fun weekend in Brooklyn! God I can't wait to live there.

Saturday a few friends and I went to the Brighton Beach edge of Coney Island and enjoyed a beautiful beach day...except for us white kids getting mad sunburned. Afterwards we went for a sushi dinner in Park Slope where I ordered these incredible spicy lobster rolls with spicy mango sauce that somehow tasted like cool ranch Doritos? I don't get it but I pomegranate you not (and this underscores why I love food - intriguing pairings are so delightful!). We then rented Spring Breakers and watched that while drinking tequila sunrises and holy pomegranate that movie is ridiculous. If you want to see James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens acting in totally opposite roles from anything they've ever done, check it out - but do know it's violent as hell.

Today we had a long brunch at the taqueria my friends' father owns, before going to the fabulous Ample Hills creamery for dessert. Then the friends and I looking for an apartment together went to a showing at an AMAZING place and started the paperwork, but ugh NYC real estate = lots of red tape that I ultimately pray we pass with flying colors and land this unit.

Otherwise, on to a week off with job applications + apartment searches galore.

This was fun! He ended up staying at mine Saturday night and we walked to his girlfriends (who is adorable) on Sunday/stayed the night there and walked back this morning. He left mine at like 6pm today. Smoked a bit, set up my N64, played through Super Mario 64/tons of other games, rediscovered my dislike for beer, played pool, 'borrowed' his brothers guitar and jammed with his girlfriends roommates. It's been a really fun weekend.

Unrelated but I had olives in the salad with my dinner today though and what they're so nice why did I not like them before

My day yesterday - impromptu Maple livestream so I could chat with some subbies. Also talked to my childhood friend after some odd months. I somehow mentioned I had never seen Fight Club. Now I'm forced to watch it at his house on Aug 24.

I've only ever seen guys react this way about Fight Club so maybe this is one of those "Real men are/have done _____" things... Rolleyes In any case, I'm dragging my brother in with me.

He also asked if my brother and I want to road trip with him to Anime Expo 2014. Maybe...

My day today was unexciting other than my Zelda game came in the mail. Now I'm trying to find new anime/TV to watch.

Oh boy where to begin?
Well I was minding my own business all day long, but then my roommate brought her cousin.
She is gorgeous... She is American (from Florida) but can speak an almost perfect spanish as she always come to visit her family to Mexico every vacation she has.
I wasn't paying attention to them but then my roommate came into my room and invited me to go out with them, so I was like "Oh ok sure, I have nothing else to do (but playing FallOut New Vegas[which was a gift from IllegallySane; I still love you for that]).
So we went out to a bar, we drink we ate we chatted, gosh. I didn't have an awesome night like yesterdays for a reaaally long time.
Turns out her cousing liked me, just as I liked her.
When she told me, we were in the cab going back to our house.
Oh man you can imagine the things we did in the cab, we heard that the cab driver said "que siga la fiesta" and we burst in laughs, my roomate didn't stop laughing the whole time.
From there I guess you guys can imagine what came next when we arrived at our house.
Gotta say I wasn't expecting less from this city...

pineapple people trying to scam others. I don't fall for that pomegranate but it still wastes my time trying to check if it's legit.

Well, a lot has happened really.

1) I realized after years of lying to myself, I'm not even close to straight. I guess it feels nice to finally realize it myself, but my family is pretty homophobic so I'll have to wait a bit before even thinking about letting them know.

2) I finished my final drive with my instructor. We did a pre driving test and I got a 95. Just gotta wait till October.

3) New hair gels came in and I got a new bottle of hair spray.

4) Went to the mall with two friends of mine and had a really good time! c:

As of five hours ago, that "one week off" turned into two, as one of my supervisors regretfully informed me they had to cancel my booking for next week as they just don't have the work. Which REALLY sucks in more ways than one, but honestly ever setback has its positives, so I'm sure I'll make the most of them with this extra time. First up? The complete retargeting of my job search to casting out larger nets. Fingers crossed I secure some awesome prospects.
