ms is very choppy
#1
Hi i just got a new laptop this morning for christmas (=D) it is a pretty decent laptop it has 3g HD NVIDIA GeForce 8200m graphics, 223 gb hd. It has vista yet it is a 32 bit operating system (i dont understand this). The model is HP G60 120us Notebook pc. Does anyone know what I could do to make maplestory less choppy? I have heard that disabling aero can help, but i am unsure.

Thanks

Edit: Wow i was afk for 5 mins to make this post and when i switched back to maplestory, it was running very smoothly. Thats wierd... oh well

Vista is available in both 32 and 64 bit. Nothing weird there.

The correct specifications for your laptop is:

CPU : AMD Turion 2.00 GHz x2
RAM : 3GB (3072 MB)
HDD : 250 GB @ 5400 rpm (You're seeing 223 GB is because when advertising 250GB = 250 Billion (250 000 000 000 bytes). But in reality 1GB = 1 073 741 824 bytes so 250 billion / 1.07 billion is aprox 233...maybe the other 10 gig is used for a instant boot program or something idk lol.

Also, I'd recommend uninstalling lots of the crapware that comes with the laptop. Things that you don't need. Software with special offers. Get rid of those. It will improve your performance.

Okay thank you I will try uninstalling all the unnecessary games and other programs. One thing i noticed though is that when i alt-tab out and back into the game it runs smoothly for around 3 minutes.

Usually, disabling all the stuff you don't use (ever), speeds up the computer.

I saw something on FAQ's on maplestory.nexon.net that said that if you switch the compatability of Maplestory.exe to windows XP it would run faster however all it did was make it so that the maplestory start page does not load.
