What items do you need for the maker quest? I want to get the items now, before the prices for whatever you need increases tenfold.

For the rest of the levels, Isaac isn't that high yet, so we'll have to have someone else tell us that.

Isaac when you say Black Crystal and Dark Crystal add a Random stat...what happens when you use these on a Weapon?
Will you only get Attack...or will you have a chance of getting Hp or Avoid or some other

Read all 11 pages. I'm astounded by this skill.
I wonder when it's coming out. I'm both excited and fearful, for the sheer awesomeness (PLUS I HAVE BEEN SAVING ORES SINCE MAPLE EVER STARTED D) and the sheer possibilities it could have on the economy.Honestly, I look forward to it the most because it will make pirate equips way more common, specifically knuckles. My questions are: FIRST In this thread http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6757 She says, for example, that the White Fangz knuckle needs "Mid B 28." I know she says it needs 4 mithrils, but what does she mean but Mid B 28? Does that mean you need 28 Mid B's to create that weapon, and then you can use ores on it over that? I think I get it. So to make a White Fangz, I'd need 4 Mithrils, 28 Mid B crystals, and then if I wanted I could put a diamond and str crystal (Because it says it has 2 jewel slots). How intriguing. SECOND if I forged 20 crystals to get high/mid/low would the ratio roughly be 14:5:1 low:mid:high ? Or would it be more like 17:2:1 Or perhaps 11:8:1 just to give me an idea.

ZachAttack Wrote:FIRST Correct. Your #2 came out a bit garbled though because you're mixing terms. I believe you're referring to grading jewels & crystals? Monster Crystals themselves are forged into levels based on the levels of mob etcs supplied, with a slight chance of getting better ones. I don't think anyone's got an exact ratio for how frequently a monster crystal comes out exceptional, or how often crystals and jewels grade at each level.

Zach, it is something like you described.
Low is the most common. Middle is uncommon. High is rare. I'm referring to the gems/jewels/plates. It could be like that, but it really is a guessing game. It is all based on luck - you could land 5 high ones in a row, for example.

eos367 Wrote:Correct. Yes, I meant jewel grades, sorry. It was late last night xD. Alright, so no definite ratio as of now. That's good, that's good, I'll have to run a few test runs when it comes out then. All my ores in the 5 mules I have filled with them will finally come in handy! Holypie Wrote:can a black crystal give attack on an armor? According to JMS, no. Both black and dark crystals effect STR, INT, DEX and LUK according to the following chart:
I'm aware this is slightly different from Isaac's explanation of the dark and black, so either one of is wrong, or it's implemented differently between versions. To answer the root of your question - Only sapphires and diamonds are restricted to weapons.

Does seem to make Black Crystals rather worthless though when you can get a low dark much easier than a mid Black.

My translating isn't perfect, but one of the differences between them seems to be that one of them can only modify stats that already exist, or that would be added by other crystals in the recipe. That would add a bit more differentiation to it, but the passage on that is pretty ambiguous.

Chinson Wrote:How do i access the skill? Read the first post in the thread. The skill is not (yet) available in GMS. When it becomes available, there will be a quest for acquiring it (described in Isaac's post). Once you have acquired it, I assume it will be in your skillbook ('k' key), and you can activate it by double-clicking on it there or (more commonly done) by assigning it to a key on your keyboard.
