How do you deal with rude players on Maple?
#1
As the thread title says, how do you deal with rude players on Maple? Throughout my nearly-four-year experience of playing, I have had to deal with a lot of very ignorant, stubborn, and utterly pathetic people on Maple who go out of their way to make other players around them miserable. I won't go into any details, but you know what I'm talking about.

This really bothers me as I enjoy the game, regardless of what I, my buddies, guildmates, and other good people in-game have to go through. I try to handle these situations in a civil manner, but it leads to frustration every single time. I was just wondering, how do you handle these situations?

Whenever I meet someone I can't stand, I usually report for harassment (include a chat log if possible), defame, then log off so they can't get revenge. This really pisses them off. Then if you get on more characters and defame them, they become ever more mad. And it's fun seeing them mad Big Grin

But the only thing to do otherwise is take it or leave it.

I kill them with kindness. Jerks can't stand it when they're being rude to someone and that person is being as nice as they can be.

Wow..Thats a great idea Glitter
I'll have to try that out.

I deal with idiots by telling them there going to be unsuccessful and ignoring almost every comeback Big Grin

As difficult as that sounds, I'll have to give that a try. I'm really out of options as to how to deal with these types of people without losing my temper. Thank you for the comments so far.

I ask them to go away, ignore them, or KS them back(yay for the fact that I got range now). If they start insulting me I tell them to go find another way to fail at life. If they don't speak English I tell them to do this: "MENU -> CHANGE CHANNELS -> CHANNEL 1". That does work most of the time...

Hmmm, never tried that... *Hides chainsaw* I'm going to try that if the rest doesn't work *Also hides Black Sacks*.

Of course there are still people that go away without any problem.

I usually start acting happy and scarastic. ie, I get a random nib yelling at my Islander, I reply by saying I'm level 4 and they're total morons. "omg noob, im lv 4... r u blind omgomgomg" <3

I just ignore them. Trying to engage in any meaningful conversation with them is pointless. That part of their brain seems to not function.

Tongue since I'm "high level" people often assume I'm rude expecially when hanging around HHG1 where I go to just talk to others and chill inbetween training.
I get people telling I have no life, etc, etc, when I know they want to just as badly reach my level so normally I just say nice things and avoid giving them the satisfaction of trying to make me look like a jerk. Or I just say nothing at all.

That's what I do too.

Sometimes with really annoying people I write their names and mass defame (or mass fame if they're defame collectors o-o) them, spam trade/chat/friend request on them, or spam whisper on them with mules on 3+ accounts. It's fun.

Ignoring is the most efficient way of dealing with this. Mostly because people won't change, from what I've noticed. Waste of time trying to convert them, lol.

Most of the time, if i'm training a low leveled character, I just have my cousin park his level 13x NL in the same map on a safe spot to say Change channels every time someone tries to ks me. That usually makes them leave. Then there are those few ignorant people who are like : you didn't own me nubs. they usually CC after that, but i'm just thinking: the whole point of ksing back is so that the ignorant fool leaves. We don't have to "own" them in order for them to leave, we just have to make their exp rate worse than it was if they went around and found their own channel.

If i'm by myself, i usually wait for them to Change channels by themselves when they see that i kill too slow for them. If they decide to come and KS me, i usually ask them : May you please change channels?" and the person usually will (considering Bowmasters/archers have some sort of reputation as one of the nicest classes in the game, i don't know why, it's just that way).

Basically: make the kser's exp suck then they will usualy change channels by themselves. Or if they;re ranged, use a rush type skill and push stuff into them =P
