Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
#81
as i say on any competitive game worth it's salt, tier lists are only useful if you're the "top percent", whining about tiers at low levels is like saying zerg rush is an OP strategy at any level of gameplay

also jigglypuff at S tier in melee what.

I can't believe we're talking about this. This is my s'hit. I watch tournament sets for pretty much every smash game. (64, melee, brawl, project melee) Even some hour long discussions about analyzing the trailers for smash 4. It's so crazy to watch i get so excited.

Can i just dump videos here?

Oh no only Khoi would get it, and he's long gone.

Maybe the Wombo Combo though.

Jigglypuff is so versatile in melee. One of the best horizontal recoveries in the game, and with its floatiness off stage, easily punishes characters with bad jumps/recoveries with the Wall of Pain tactic

Ok check this out.

First this happens: http://youtu.be/fwO2L1_CPmA?t=6m37s

Then this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dH242vVf4WI

And then this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBGffJfBkd0

The first video alone is worth watching but i was watching this live until like 3-4 am when it ended. The apex for melee was somewhat less satisfying because brawl actually had more ups and downs, but that's just my opinion.

Sakurai loves casuals. Also talks Customization saying “Perhaps the best way to think of it is: it’s not the strength of the attacks that change—their power—but the directionality of those attacks will change with customization,”

CUSTOMISABLE HITBOXES CONFIRMED?

Edit:

Past Brawl stages might not be accessible like past melee and past SSB stages

If he could hit you... Yes, his attacks are some of the strongest, but he was also one of the slowest characters and a few of his moves had somewhat long delays. It was pretty easy to out run/speed/hit him.

Not going to happen. And even if it does, it'll be relegated to the subspace emissary equivalent, like sticker (as power ups) were in brawl.

Hey takebacker, wanna give me some videos on how to win as Snake?

On a relevant note since we seem to hijacking this thread, what is a customizable hitbox?

The hitbox is the area that attacks deal damage in. If it is customizable, you would be able to presumably increase it in some manner, which I seriously doubt would be enabled in multiplayer modes when he wouldn't even let minor % increases from stickers be used in multiplayer.

If this thread is now simply for discussing Smash Bros in general.. may I ask..

Whose your main fighter!?

I love asking this question to my friends because it describes their way of fighting and personality.

My go-to fighter is Toon Link. Has been since 64. Link > Young Link > Toon Link
And when Wii U version releases, it shall be the altered version of Link as well. Link's mah boi, and I prefer the quicker/agile version of him ;P

I'm partial to Lucario cause all my friends are too good at this game and I always end up being behind in lives (so his aura deal makes for a really really powerful mechanic for someone like me). I really wish that his up+B did a bit of damage considering it's extremespeed and actually does damage in the pokemon game :C I actually like how he plays in Project M because they make him a lot less floaty than in Brawl which ups his game significantly.

Working on learning ROB now. He's pretty fun Tongue

Original was Link
Melee was Young Link
Brawl was Ike

Original is Kirby.
Melee was Link and Marth.
Brawl was Pit, Kirby, Olimar, and Pikachu. I like playing as Marth, G&W, and ROB though.

The only thing I'm really hoping for with the new SSB game is for them to take Pikachu's down special, and turn it into volt tackle and have it work like the Falcon Kick! I am so sick of people who spam that move over and over again. Make pikachu's Thunder into a final smash that calls down lightning bolts from the sky in random locations or something, but good GOD is it annoying as a regular attack.

On that note, I want Kirby's brick to have a slightly longer start-up, that thing's also really spammable, and whenever I introduce a friend to smash they always seems to migrate toward Kirby's brick or Pikachu's thunder.

This pretty much sums up my feelings toward the thunder spam:
