3DS Discussion thread:Tomodachi Life: Now with Singing Morgan Freeman
Link Wrote:The general consensus is that Ages is the better one. I haven't played either one of them since they were released originally, so I'm not able to give a personal opinion there. However, chronologically, Seasons comes before Ages.

I freaking love my 3DS. So many great games on one single system. This is probably the greatest gaming system I own at the moment. I have what? 9 Zelda games on it alone? And 3 Metroid games. Awesome.

I think i'll go with Ages then, i can only afford one ;-;

I'm glad the games started coming out. I remember when i got it on release and it was like sigh rayman my only game for life '-'

If you like 2d zelda games (And I assume you do if you're buying one!), make sure you get the other one later. They're entirely different games (You probably know this, but I already had to explain this to a few people who though it was a pokemon red/blue versions type deal, it absolutely isn't).

Also make sure you finish one before starting the other, finishing one gives you a password to enter into the other game when making a new file which gives some extra things (A bonus dungeon, an extra heart container, some plot changes, some npcs move around and a extra final boss fight after the normal final boss of each game).

Subrosians haven't got anything on the pineappleing gorons in ages. AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Oh, you're in for a treat if you only played seasons and thought that the subrosians were bad.

Says who? What I can see in my copy of Historia says they occur essentially in parallel, and the story changes to whichever order you choose to do it in.

Edit: And for what it matters, the GBC manuals for the games each have a small plot introduction, seasons starts out with link in hyrule before going to holodrum (Seasons land), whereas Ages starts out with him already in Labrynna

This, plus the fact that, at the end of the linked game for Ages, you see Link departing from Labrynna via a boat, setting up Link's Awakening.

Wait, so I should start playing Seasons before Ages if I want things to make more sense?

its almost disregardable. the only connection is land, but the cross code changes the story of the other game. by legitamacy, seasons is first, but it really doesnt matter to the conventional person if seasons or ages is played first.

edit: because it has abosolutely little impact on the story except for the pretext of after game is beat, link goes off to another area(which in ages, goes on boat for links awakening, thats about it) no real story connections

Well, I have the choice of being anal about this so I'm going to take it. *restarts*

Here are the endings for each (I was in a game earlier, so I didn't have time for linking videos) :

The Oracle of Seasons ending ends with "To be continued in Oracle of Ages..." while the Oracle of Ages ending ends with Link on a boat, setting up Link's Awakening.

Would it be possible to beat one, get the password for the next game, then beat that game and get a password for the first and replay it with the password?

So I'm playing Oracle of Ages right now, and this is all I can think in the second dungeon (no plot spoilers)

Surely it changes depending on the order you play the two games?

If you play Seasons first, yes that'll happen, but I'm fairly sure if you play ages first, the game ends in "To be continued in Oracle of seasons", and then seasons will end with link on a boat after the bonus boss. I had a quick look for a video of a nonlinked ages ending, but couldn't see one. I'm playing ages first anyway, so I'll just check that way.

Oh, I guess you're right. Like I said, I haven't played the games since they were released originally, so I had no idea. I just went by what I learned from all of the discussions about the timeline over on the Zelda Informer forums. Everyone always said it goes Seasons to Ages there. It probably has to do with the introduction to each story, or something.

I can't wait for MH4. That looks awesome.

Can't wait. I highly considered just downloading it straight from the eShop tonight, just to get the game some hours earlier, buttttt... I just can't help but prefer to have physical copies of games. So I gotta wait until noon tomorrow to go pick up my copy. I've been waiting for this game for years, what's a few more hours...?

Torture. That's what.

My life is about to become void of anything other than AC: New Leaf for the next few weeks. Damn these games.

Comes in tomorrow morning for my sister and I. Gonna be fun playing an AC game since the last one I even touched was the GCN one.

Also the Oracle endings change upon which one you play / beat first. So yes, if you play Ages first, it ends with the "To Be Continued" ending and vice-versa.

Pre-ordered the greatest casual game ever, and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow at 10 AM (thanks a lot GameStop)
