At least im glad that im not the only one who doesn't like adventure time, But tbh, fairytale actually "fits" more in with maple than all the other animes. I WOULD LOVE FMA Brotherhood in maple, to die for x0x Automail gloves covering!! :C And as khani pointed out, you could work it into a story
But if you can get pokemon<this wins all my votes

I think you're being far too harsh on it. I think the only way it is generic is that there is nothing that really sticks out about it, and when I say that I mean like themes or outfits or a mascot or something.

So I'm going to suggest Warner Bros. yeah, ok, I'll calm down now.

Quite serious actually. As for what I know about SAO? I dunno, a lot? I guess I am a fan of it, just as I am a fan of AT. So I know that AT has about 3 times the content to sell than SAO.

was implying that I found it strange no one had kicked up a fuss about it yet - not a fan of the pony show in any case Sword Art Online would clearly go over the best with the majority - pretty sure theres already naruto related NX, wouldnt mind an adventure time hat and the dog as a pet

yeah, ok, I'll calm down now. I used to play a PS2(or PS1?) puzzle game for taz manian devil that was all about breaking things. And running away from/beating up taz hunters.
It was great.

SAO could come with;
1) (NX) equips
2) bosses
3) theme dungeons
4) porting over and remixing some of the iconic soundtracks for said theme dungeons/bosses
5) hairstyles/faces
6) MapleVille additions
If the development team really wanted to do a good job, crossover content from SAO could potentially be amazing. Of course, I am aware that some of the things I listed are expecting too optimistic. But nevertheless, there is certainly enough content to make it worthwhile should they decide to put in the effort.
Like I said before, I don't know anything about Adventure Time. I can't imagine, however, a simplistic comedy cartoon providing nearly enough hype. If anything, they'd be better off crossover-ing from The Simpsons or something.

It's much deeper than that. If you look closely, you can actually notice the series takes place after a nuclear war erased all humans (Technically) from the earth. I've not seen much of the series myself, but they apparently call it "the mushroom war"...

Whilst having an allegorical story is nice and all, the presentation of it lacks impact and the 'wow' factor that some of the mainstream anime have. Implementing it into an action-based game such as Maple is just going to see a massive flop. If you're familiar with the show, then I can understand that it will be appealing to you. However, for shows like SAO, the average Mapler does not need to have watched it to appreciate the potential content, such as NX faces/hairs/weapons. This is where a good chunk of the revenue will come from for Nexon.
In terms of raw content I'd have no doubt that a longer-running franchise will be superior. But how much of it is feasible to implement? How much of it will actually make a positive impact on the game? How much of the content will the player base will actually be receptive to? And most importantly, how much of the content will Nexon be able to capitalise on to justify the costs of development?

If you are talking about "wow" factor, Then do a quick google search. I just did.
Searching "Sword Art Online" VS "anime" Yields images that... Look QUITE like each other. Same color eschemes... Same hair styles... Same eyes... Same weird weapons... Same shadings... Same girls in few clothes looking indirectly at the "camera"...
Sure, the concept behind it can be nice, but... You'd just be adding mmorpg elements to... A mmorpg. Few else to add.
However, look at the searches "adventure time" VS "cartoon". You can see a particular art style, with a particular color scheme, with recognizeable characters between them. Not only depending on their clothes, hair color, or eye color.
And lastly, Search for "maplestory". While it "may" fit both styles, I'd be more inclined towards a simplistic style, considering we are talking about a 2D game with characters around 70 pixels tall.
Surely it's just opinion, but I made mine from that.

And that's the sort of stuff that sells. There is nothing wrong with implementing what has been known to work and appeal to the masses. The poll results reflect that.

What particular elements will Adventure Time bring to MS? I honestly fail to see how a sitcom-style cartoon will contribute meaningfully to Maple.

And anime not fitting the Maplestory art style as well as some almost stick-figure-esque drawings? If the animated trailers that we've had for the recent classes, as well as what jMS have done with a number of shows have been any indication, it's that the anime art style can be ported to and from Maple flawlessly. If anything, those oversimplified designs from Adventure Time would be grossly out of place in Maple--the Maplestory sprites have much more detail than the ones from that cartoon, if you look closely at the character and equipment features. Borrowing content from Adventure Time would be a huge step down in art style, since the cartoon lacks any shading detail to speak of--and the eyes are just shapes that look like they've been coloured in with Paint.

Yeah, I remember another anime that had a promising future, wasn't it like..OH BLEACH
They'll get over it. FMA actually has a story that has not only ended but is so popular funimation religiously scans for dubs/subs varients of it.

One thing is stuff that sells. The other is noticing said stuff in around 50 pixels looses the style. Remember that maplestory characters, even animated, are huge-headed. And that's because they ported Maplestory's style to anime, not the other way around.
As for what it can add, basically, lots of equipments including weapons, chairs, pets, some unique hairstyles (nothing anime related), monsters that fit maplestory's style, and even quests.
Sincerely, I'd prefer having something original included in Maplestory. Something that doesn't have to do with manga eyes or the likes. If the majority of people prefers that stuff, whatever. I just don't see the appeal. But yeah, just show me stuff that could be added to the game from that show that doesn't look similar to anything in Maplestory already, and then maybe I can consider it.

Well if Gintama is not on the list (current list), I would choose Adventure Time. I want to have Marceline's axe bass for my DS
If Gintama will be on a future list definately Gintama. That Mayo chair... and adding an Elizabeth mount

why is people getting so crazy about "lincensed content" paranoia?
I mean we kinda know how those campaigns works.... and they dont make bosses, pqs or things like that as far I know... aside some quests in some ms versions
you guys are making it look like it is going to be something like masteria expansion or i dont know...
btw.... if you guys can grab some new cartoon network license why not some older too?

The guy who posted directly below you has a signature that perfectly demonstrates what the dev team is capable of in terms of porting content from anime. They're from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, with every second character (starting with the girl holding the spear on the left) is from the anime.
And I think we're judging based on very different criteria here. You seem to want something unique. I'm arguing against Nexon taking unnecessary risks with uncharted territory as far as content goes.
Adventure Time won't necessarily generate less revenue than a crossover from a popular mainsteam anime if executed well enough, but the chances of being an outright failure of a project are arguably much higher. Would Nexon, or any other risk-averse company, choose that route?

YennoX, Nexon is asking us what we'd like to see, so they can judge the market.
They're not asking us to judge the market for them.
Vote for what you actually want, and let them worry about what would sell.

What I want is not given on the list, and is pretty much a lost cause, so I am simply offering my take on the options that stand out (both in good and bad ways) in the poll. Just as users can vote for what they want to see, I can provide my opinion on what I don't want to see.

I can see that, but in the same way you say stuff can be ported, just add shading to adventure time, and you have fitting stuff too.
And what I like is the potential for unique stuff. Gum hair, morphing dog pet, simplistic golden sword, guitar axe, cartoony eye dots for a face, Finn's hat, Ice King's chair, Candy monsters, BEEMO pet (It's a Game Boy like creature apparently)... And that's what I know from watching a show or two. You can't find anything like that on Maplestory, and that's what I like about it.
A different view, yeah, but I think that if a crossover ever gets here, it should be something unique and well known to a MMORPG. It's just that stuff designed for that anime are already designed with a RPG style in mind. It's like adding new content that could be or not be related.
