This is an old trick, but now they have the GM trademark in their ign's (SCA, YEL, MAR, KRA, etc etc) which makes it a tad more believable. Don't fall for this pomegranate. Let your newbie friends be aware of this as well.

There's so many of these kinds of scams out there that it's kinda pointless singling out just one of them.

My first thought was that anyone stupid enough to fall for this kinda deserves what they get.

Yeah...thing is, the website and the grammar are both so out of whack it'd take a great fool to believe it for even one second. I agree with what Sephie says, it's nice of you to highlight it but this one's so laughably bad there's almost no point to it since anyone who does fall for it might not even visit any fansite or have friends.

Unfortunately a lot of people do fall for this trick, but oh well.


I'm sure a lot of people have reported the guy behind this (he has a certain character sells the items he steals on every server), but nothing ever gets done. Nothing gets done about all the hackers on each server that everyone reports either.

Anyone has been able to make igns with YEL, SCA, KHA etc. since forever. In fact, I have to the ign HimeYEL which I've used just for some harmless trolling of my friends.

That's the point. They use real GM names but with fake i/L letters, so when the person tries to add them to buddy and it says 'Gamemaster is not available as a buddy' they believe it's legit.

Psh, people thought I was a GM and my name was Geminidawn, people are just stupid, nothing you can do about it

The game already warns you in MapleTips that only nexon.net is Nexon's pomegranate, and GMs will never ask you for account information, if you go to a different domain and type in your account info you're fucking up in multiple ways.

you have a GM called himeWIN, and then someone makes an alt called himeWlN. they'll look the same in the game, and when the person tracks the name, they'll type the actual GM name instead of the copied one.

Oh hey, it's that site that's smega'd everyday in Scania. Hate to say, but this is kind of old news for me. It was obvious from the first time I saw it.

Lol this guy told me and my friend to go here and we said to use an avatar smega to prove it was legit and the guy said he spent it already on cubes.

No one deserves to be scammed. Ignorance =/= stupidity. No one would knowingly fall for a scam. While it may seem obvious to you that this is a scam, there are younger kids that often do fall for it.

I'm surprised people fall for this pomegranate in 2013.

I'm kind of more surprised that the scammers can't afford a 1.99 domain name and don't use 000webhost or something so they don't have MAPLESTORYSCAMS.OMGFREEHOSTING.COM

I actually had a GM buddy but it's in MSEA and it was years ago.
