Monster Life reactions
I thought I would get addicted pretty fast, but I haven't played it again since it was released. Maybe once my new notebook arrives I'll restart.

Speaking of addictions...

Many of you probably know this, but for the benefit of those who didn't, like me:
Harvesting resets a building's timer.
Meaning: If you harvest the waru from a building a minute before it was supposed to produce more waru, it will wait another 10 minutes before producing them. So you'll have lost 9 minutes.

This means that even if you're at-keyboard and want to keep checking on your waru factory, you should resist the urge to harvest often, because you lose waru every time.

farm seems exceptionally laggy as of late. Anyone else experiencing this?

I suppose it's like that. I notice it gets more laggy during the day, but a bit smoother and better during the night.

Does anyone know if monster life is one giant single server/channel or is it separate, since everyone from any world can access it and pretty much communicate with other players in different worlds?

It's probably one server, and not too "giant", either. They are assuming, probably correctly, that people will soon tire of Monster Life and it won't be as overloaded/laggy as it is now.
Of course, chicken-and-egg apply. People who might be interested enough to play a lot with it, will get disgusted with the lag and drop it.
FWIW, the IP of the one I get sent to (from MYCK) is 8.31.99.206, port 8587.

On the weekend, it was taking me up to 10 seconds or more to switch farms. I wasn't sure if it was the server or my internet dying.

Is easier and safer to right click on the monster's icon in the 'My monsters' bar rather than on the monster itself.
This also helps when visiting farms where all the monsters are jambed into a tiny space because 95% of the farm is taken up with buildings.

I had less lag when I connected to my farm through Renegades instead of Bera, but maybe it was coincidence. I was on Bera for the heavy load hours over the weekend (to collect hot time stuff).

@ above, you also need to keep the mouse on the right monster until you get the confirmation popup - some functions depend on where the mouse is *then*, rather than when you actually click. For example, if you're trying to combine a monster, and you move the mouse to a second monster, you'll get that one instead.

Yeah, the lag delay in Monster Life is starting to make me mad. Frown

I kinda like it.
Played a lot during the first 2-3 days, but I've slowed down since then.
Maybe I'll pick it back up later tonight.

Can I just say that Farm hopping and Waru harvesting has been a dream, lately? No lag whatsoever.

I think it's the usual week after where a lot of people already get tired of x update.

Today's dumb question: what happens if you don't nurture your monsters when they get those hearts over their heads?

Can they de-level? Die? Run away? Any other ill effects?
Also, the game tells me I'd get more experience by nurturing monsters that want it - but I don't. Nurturing gives 10 exp regardless.

I don't think there are any ill effects for not nurturing them when they want it. I skipped a day without clicking on them with the hearts up, and it's still there a day after, so I'm guessing it just stays there forever.

It's pretty vague by the game's word, but I think the experience it meant is for the individual monster's exp to level, not your farm's. But of course, you get more waru per nurture click the higher level they are.

The notice that comes up when you combine says that rank and level are factors in determining the outcome, but does the type of both combining monsters factor in as well? Will I have a bigger chance of getting a S rank ghost if I combine 2 A+ rank ghosts together as opposed to A+ ghost and some other A+ monster?

Nothing, they will keep the hearts till you nurture them. And your monsters get more exp, not you. If you insta nurture a mob 3 times, it becomes lv3, if you wait the 6? hours for hearts three times it becomes lv4 or so. It gives way more exp.

Monster Life is proving to be a better distraction than MapleStory. I'm level 21 now and I'm converting my farm into themed waru factory before I go full-on breeding ground. So, while I'm jealous people are getting S monsters from breeding already, I still have a high level and A+ monsters. Tongue

Some ppl are saying it does matter on what type they are. I got my S mushroom that way (now I remembered that I went to that one farm that had just A+ mushrooms and fused there to get my first S mushroom).. :/

I think it ment to tell you that your monster (not you) gets more experience when it wants nurtured and you nurture it.
(Monster exp = gain levels for the monster, your exp = get a higher level farm.)

Question.

Do same-breed bonus stats stack? For example, I have 6 cats, ranging from A to B+. Do all their luck stacks, or does it just takes the greatest one? I ask this because when I hover over the monster emblem in the top right that shows how many monsters you have out of maximum, it only says +8 luck, implying I'm only getting luck from my highest grade.

If so, there's no point in having a full-cat farm. Might as well mix and mingle with all stats for when switching characters, but I hope it's not true ~.~
