"The Happening" - Any Truth?

If you've seen it, yey, think there's any truth to what happened? I don't mean quite on the same scale, but something similar about the

plants evolving and the chemical that made everyone suicide.

My friend said the happening just... stopped happening and that's how the story ended.

Biggest waste of an hour and a half I have ever experienced.

I don't see any of this happening. Why? Because I don't think plants would feel that humans threaten their existance and decide to release some chemical that makes people lay down and get ran over with a lawn mower... or shoot themselves in the head with a gun... or push your head through a couple windows (what the hell kind of suicide was that anyway? So lame).

A scientist described it as the start of a rash. It just stopped, but he said it would come back... far worse. The last minute of the movie shows it happening again in France(?).... Basicly saying Humans were doomed.

I really doubt something on that scale could happen, but I'm more concerned about 1) a chemical that can do that 2) can plants evolve and communicate like that?

No known chemicals can actually make you commit suicide. However, nerve gas pretty much kills you instantly.

I've been told that plants already do communicate through a series of long lasting movements. Can't say I've had the time to isolate several plants and watch them for hours on in though.

So isn't there a part in your brain that makes you not kill yourself that a could be reversed? :[

It started "Happening"
Suddenly, it stopped "Happening"
Simply because it didn't have to be "Happening" anymore.

What a disappointment. Y'all must admit, old woman putting her head through the window was LOL.

The movie would have been better if the entire 1.5hr was focused on the black board in the class...
